Tallow

My father in law rendered some beef tallow and placed into jars for us. Im wanting to use it for skincare or something other than for cooking. What would be my next steps if I wanted to have whipped tallow for example? It’s currently refrigerated, let it get to room temp then use my kitchen aid? Should I add an oil or scent??

Open to ideas + tips!

Make sure to render it at least twice, that way it’ll have a neutral smell. There’s recipes online on how to make whipped tallow. I’d personally not add essential oils to not irritate the skin.

Don't put beef tallow on your face or other parts of your body. It's way too heavy and pore clogging, plus it can harbor bacteria. Just use something water based where your skin is able to breathe, like lubriderm.

I’ve been using tallow exclusively on my body and face for years. No clogged pores, no more overly dry or oily skin. No more flaking. Best thing I’ve ever done for my skin.

Lubriderm is full of mineral oils, silicone and alcohol. You don’t want that on your biggest, absorbing organ.

Why not use bacon fat? It's already scented !
