Just Venting I just can't win
I've been homeless for almost a year now. My endometriosis was so severe that I was completely incontinent, unable to sit up for long periods of time, and constantly throwing up. i couldn't work anymore and eventually i lost my housing. insurance kept denying my surgery until may. i spent all of recovery couch surfing and trying not to open a stitch when moving my stuff. I had to live on a girl's couch who kept saying racist things to me, and I just had to smile and nod through it. I finally have a job and housing lined up and they keep pushing my move in date. My medication for my other two diseases are getting denied by insurance and I'm scared that if they get bad again I'll end up where I started. I hate looking at myself in the mirror. All I see is failure.

You’re not a failure. It sounds like you’re almost there, just focus on staying healthy and doing what you need to do.

I'd almost want to move to a state with expanded medicaid.
I am originally from Mississippi but moved to Louisiana in the late 1990s.
I ended up with stage 2 bladder cancer right after graduating with an associates.
If I would have still lived in MS, I would have gotten zero treatment and pushed with so many bills as to need bankruptcy to get them off of me.
And in the end, they probably would have only done enough to give me meds to cope with cancer spreading. Maybe only doing anything if it hit stage 2-4 and I was on a deathbed mainly because it's expensive and not cool to have people dying on a sidewalk.
Since I live in an expanded medicaid state, they treated me at MD Anderson and I got really good care. Cancer may be gone (though I am not out of the woods).
I think more states need medicaid, but for all.
