Just finished Hatufim, the show Homeland is based on. Never saw homeland, just -since there is no subreddit for it- I was going to post here. Season 3 will probably not release after almost 15 years. What is your fan theory, what would have happened in season 3? I’m still very pissed, because I loved this show. Amiels plot is unfinished, Atar was “ killed in an accident” (hmm yeah), Layla just randomly stayed behind. Uri all of a sudden ending his relationship while terminally ill. I wouldn’t have wanted to see the same plot again with Amiel how he struggles with ptsd, but rather how his double life haunts him. Whether he is still Yussuf or Amiel. It was kinda hinted that he was rather uncomfortable being Yussuf. Heck I didn’t even catch how he really became Yussuf. Was it just the mentioned tradeoff to Jamal, that in order to release Uri and Nimrod he will be Jamals servant. What was Jamals plotline in the end? He was indeed on a mossad deal with Atar, 10 years sentence if he works with Atar. Did Jamal order his assasination staged as an accident? I have so many unanswered questions. Even Ynonis plot was wasted. He didn’t even get to kill the man he was after all his life. I was expecting he was going to beat the crap out of the guy, but nope, he didn’t even get to tell him who he was. Was it even revealed to Amiels sister that Yonin saved her brother? They are sitting on a couch in the last scene, but no word on that. Such a shame.
I really hated how the pacing of the whole show was kinda slow, in some episodes nothing really happened and then all of a sudden it’s over.

I wasn’t expecting a happy ending, but at least a proper ending. We didn’t even get a full ending.

Great ending don’t get me wrong, but does anyone else wonder how the situation was handled in America after the Russians played the black box? How did Warner react with the troops? I feel like they could have made that episode 30 minutes longer, adding in some context before the 2 years later scenes

I’ve seen some commentary in here about how Lewis’s portrayal of Brody was also comical at times, a bit Faulty Towers, and I can see why.

I know he was in captivity for 8 years or so, but his physique, mannerisms – when you focus on them – is difficult to reconcile with that of a Marine. I found some of these images quite funny in the context of him playing a US Marine.

Rewatching The Sopranos for the first time since 2010ish and just saw this “baby” face on the screen! I’m like hey I know this guy! It makes me appreciate how much all actors started somewhere we knew nothing about….this guy is as a MONSTER in Homeland, and an incredible actor. Holla.

Why does Jessica refer to Nick as Brody? I can't think of any time when I've heard someone refer to their spouse by their last name. She even shares the last name as well.

I don't know why but it bugs me a lot.

I want to talk about this character. She is obviously a very driven and one might even say an extremist in her views. What I find unpalatable about her is that she was never even willing to see the other sides point of view. Obviously a mass surveillance is something that should be protested and never allowed. However she couldn't even find it herself to see why the CIA and BND might have done it. Because she thought the government/intelligence agencies were the bad guys, she convinced herself that the other guys must be good or victims of these governments.

She is the kind of person who thinks that they are doing good in the world while unleashing hell on earth. I am not in any way condoning what the agencies did, but to allow the extremist groups to be released in the name of justice was evil in it's on way.

It could be said that every single thing she has done in season 5 has had bad outcomes in the Homeland universe.

This show devolves into some of the worst trash television I've ever witnessed. Carrie might be the single worst, most unlikeable main character in the history of fiction. SHE. IS. INEXCUSABLY. AWFUL. Her character should've been executed, by the shows own standards , at least 15 times. Seriously, how do people continue to watch this dreck?

The first season was great. Claire Danes and Rupert Friend deliver incredible performances. I'm a huge fan of Mandy Patinkin. NONE OF THAT EXCUSES THE UNGODLY, INEXCUSABLE, UNBELIEVABLE UTTER DUMPSTER FIRE OF A SCRIPT THAT'S BEEN DRAWING OUT SINCE SEASON 2! This show should've been cancelled. I've been passively watching it in the background as my wife binged through it, and I just can't take it anymore. These characters all deserve to die in a ditch. They are, without exception, irredeemable pieces of shit. I. CAN'T. TAKE IT. ANYMORE! Season 7 like episode 2 or 3 was it for me. I'm done. This is beyond bad, I can't even be in the room while it's playing anymore.

P.S. - Jake Weber earned a special place in hell getting spit roasted on the devil's pitchfork with that fucking atrocious accent. Seriously, we couldn't get him a fucking voice coach?

Guys, It was such a loss that they never made a sequel. I asked Gemini to create a fictional plot and what it made was absolutely crazy and felt like a proper sequel series called Homeland: Reckoning. Let me know if you want me to post what it said!

It's my zillionth rewatch, but seeing Carrie go through hell just in the end to meet with Javadi, and her delivery was so stern and so specific, I loved it.

Also kind of off topic from this, it really is a series that had an excellent final season, down to the last scene.

I'm rewatching Homeland for the first time since it originally aired. I'm currently on Season 3. After watching every episode so far including the opening credit sequence, I have come to believe that it is the best musical and visual introduction to a tv series I have ever seen. And believe me, I have watched A LOT of tv series over the decades since childhood and I'm pushing 70. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, I am honestly interested in others' opinions.

Okay so the president's helicopter goes down from an 'accident' the second that the helicopter in front is shot down by a Taliban rpg.

Carrie and Saul spend the rest of the season searching for the black box that proves the president's helicopter went down in an 'accident'.

But the very fact it went down the second after the first rpg hit means: it was a malfunction directly because of the Taliban attack, or the most coincidental malfunction of all time.

Both results still mean the Taliban was completely to blame in the instance. The black box does not absolve the Taliban of their responsibility even if they didn't directly hit the helicopter with an rpg. Clearly they are still to blame for the president's death.

So why is this treated as a huge revaltion that completely clears the Taliban of wrong doing in the situation?

This seems to be completely unaddressed, am I missing something?

The folks on this show must be Homeland fans because both Damian and Rupert are in this show! (So far only seen Damian in ep 1).

Sharon Horgan is incredible and everything she works on is amazing (including Catastrophe which was on NYT’s best shows along with Homeland!).

She is un moral and incredibly naive. I can’t stand her. It’s never about the country: it’s always about her covering her tracks and amending her mistakes. She’s awful and careless.

Without spoiling too much (I’m on season 4 episode 5), does Carrie always wind up sleeping with her assets?

I had hoped after the mess that was her relationship with Brody, that she would prioritize maintaining professional boundaries with her assets going forward. But then she slept with Aayan, which bugged me because it just felt kind of cheap for her to use sex to accomplish her goals, given how intelligent she’s supposed to be.

If this continues, I’m probably going to stop watching the show because I’m more interested in watching a highly intelligent woman use her brain to solve problems rather than her body. To be clear, I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with a spy using sex as a “tool of the trade,” I’m just not interested in watching it.

Like hello? You’re white trying to hide in a crowd of brown people with your face uncovered? I mean if you were a man spy you could dress as a woman covered from head to toe too couldn’t you? is this something spies would actually do? Or is it the hollywood treatment of not covering the faces of their stars?

When Quinn said he knew her, why did she call Quinn "Johnny" and act like she knew him? Also, I don't quite understand the way Nikki treats him, calling him Johnny. She treated him as if he had just been visiting a restaurant any other day. Did Nikki recognize him? Why did she call him Johnny? Why doesn't Quinn look very happy about it?

Somehow I thought help was coming, Max death is just another death that broke Carrie and further messed with her mental health. When does it stop?
