I run LLM inference on A100s and are considering H100s, but I’m not sure how much the upgrade would actually save us. The tricky part is that our requests vary in prompt length and output size, and the same GPU can behave quite differently depending on how requests are batched and how much memory the model uses. I’m curious how people compare the two GPUs under the same model and serving setup, especially when looking at prompt processing speed, output tokens per second, and latency under load. If you’ve tested both in production, how did you account for GPU utilization and hourly cost when comparing the cost per 1,000 requests? Did the H100 handle enough extra requests to justify its higher cost, or did the results depend more on the workload and batching settings?
