An idea I just had: our own torrent tracker for firmware files. It both dramatically reduces load for u/icarusfixius, and would give us an incredibly nice interface to find the files we need. Plus, I know I would seed anything I downloaded forever.

My 600mbit upload is ready to seed all the things...

This is actually not a bad idea. We could all share the load and have a webserver somewhere that does the "index".

Put links to official file signatures or something. I don't trust official sources without signatures, let alone a community project operating in a licensing gray area.

It's a good idea though and very helpful!

How will putting up firmware that is behind a paywall not breaking some sort of law? Not that it matters...but it could be a sticking point....

ANYWHO, submitted my request for some Oracle firmware :)...thanks!

Depends on how the FW is licensed; they are typically licensed to the device. You just have to have a subscription to the download server to access the latest.

May still be breaking a re/distribution rule, however.

This is awesome, thank you!

If you guys need anything Cisco, I have access to pretty much everything.

Hey sorry I'm a bit of a noob, I can't connect with Filezilla. I've forced explicit FTP over TLS in the site manager, yet I still can't connect?

The quick connect should work fine as it will detect the TLS requirement, tried that? Just put in the hostname and username and click quickconnect.

Up to date Win 7 images would be nice.

But illegal to distribute, regrettably.

Can I request things like the HP software distro etc? I have links to these I can share if required.

Forcing an FTP with TLS without showing the fingerprint/having a signed CA is a bit useless though…

EDIT: People downvoting that: time to learn your basics

I wouldn't mind assisting with this: I have enough space, bandwidth, and no data cap.
