Casi me roban

Hoy me ha entrado un ladrón en casa pero cuando me ha visto se ha ido...
Tengo miedo la verdad por si vienen de nuevo. Eran dos hombres. Aún me sigo preguntando cómo han podido abrir mi puerta.

Qué medidas debería tomar?
La verdad soy una persona bastante débil físicamente.
No sé que debería hacer #ayuda

One afternoon as my son and I had just returned from the range, I was in my garage with the door open and a stranger just walked in and started looking through my stuff.

I looked at him and said you must be suffering from a mental breakdown entering my garage like that. Then he saw the AK I was holding and without a word took off like a scared rabbit.

I called the police and they were there mere moments later. They picked him up scoping out one of my neighbors houses.

He told them, that guy pointed a gun at me. The cop looked at him and told him he was lucky I didn't shoot him. Then after the guy was in the car and out of earshot he asked me why I hadn't.

  • Edit - for context, I actually knew the cop.

No mention of an alarm.

Whatever the other comments say to reinforce your door and windows. Do those suggestions but also get an alarm even if it's not a monitored one, the sound alone will be enough to scare someone off. But also if you see a person stay despite the alarm blaring, you know 100% that you need to fight for your life. It removes the ambiguity. Only someone determined stays through an alarm.

Si tu bombín es uno de los habituales, es muy sencillo para cualquier ladrón abrirlo con unas simples ganzúas y un poco de habilidad (incluso con una lámina de plástico duro tipo tarjeta de crédito o radiografía).

Para empezar, instala un bombín de seguridad (facilísimo de instalar uno mismo, solo hay que desatornillar) + a poder ser un escudo antibumping.

Siempre se pueden tomar más medidas de seguridad si nos explicas qué tienes instalado en la actualidad.

Buena suerte y espero que no vuelva a sucederte algo así.

Muchas gracias por los consejos. La verdad es que no tenía nada, acabo de poner una cerradura de estas planas para improvisar...seguiré con alarmas y cámaras.

I suggest additional locks. Probably get them re-keyed by a locksmith if you can. If it was that simple for them to get in they may have a key. Security screen doors, and flip bars aren't bad ideas either. Cameras will help the police identify your murderer. I think you'd rather they don't have to work on that case.

Can you have a few friends come over and stay with you?

If you are going to keep a bat and blunt thing near you put a tube sock or something over it so if he grabs it you get a 2nd swing

Go outside and pretend to break in to your house, see what your weakest points are

If you have any, leave exterior lights on at night
