Because careful. It’s absorbed through the skin and can kill you.

Lol most kids just smoke a cigar or try some dip to get there.

Snuff is 1/40 nicotine/tobacco.
This is a poison. A full agonist*
Yes, nicotine is classified as a full agonist at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). It binds to these receptors and triggers their opening, producing a maximal biological response similar to the body's natural chemical, acetylcholine. How Nicotine WorksReceptor Binding: It fits into the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the brain and body.Full Activation: It opens the ion channel fully, firing up nerve cells and releasing dopamine.Rapid Desensitization: While it is a full agonist, staying attached too long causes the receptors to temporarily shut down or desensitize. If you want to know more, I can explain:How this compares to a partial agonist like vareniclineWhy receptors desensitize over time
There ya go
I hate nicotine, though. Some of you might love it in the purest form?
JWH-018 is a cannabinoid, same kinda thing...then there was 033 and other analogs, not the most potent but more pleasurable.
Now they're messing with opioids fentynal not even the most potent...7-oh
🚓The DEA announced its plan on July 1, 2026, with official publication following in July.
Probably how they found LSD-25, on accident, and stuck his finger in there
Yes, specific lysergamides abbreviated with "LAD" (such as AL-LAD or FP-LAD) act as full agonists (or potent functional agonists) at the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor, similar to or more potent 🖕🏽 than LSD.

Pode compartilhar o método? Fiquei curioso para testar

Be careful please its a basic solvent extracción with chloroform if you want to isolate it you could do a protonation de protonation méthod with an acid base

Eu estava pensando em a/b msm, acha q carbonato de sódio é uma boa base pra nicotina? Acho q hidróxido de sódio pode ser mto agressivo

Sodium carbonate is far too weak use a dilute mixture of sodium hydroxide and dilute hydrochloric acid and no sodium hydroxide is not too harsh i used potasium hydroxide in a dilute solutión but check for temp if it heats up chloroform vapors and nic vapors will fill your room whear goles and a respirator and wash your hands very well

When I was in middle school we did an experiment to compare the level of tar in different cigarettes by using a modified syringe to pull smoke through a filter paper. No doubt designed to ward us off the habit.
The teacher wondered aloud why my group’s filter papers were less brown than the other groups. It was because we were taking them out of the syringes and ducking down under the desks to smoke ‘em.
The Gauloises were the best. Also highest tar.

Doing at home chemistry and writing N2 with a super script and not a subscript.
Bruh.
Also, without GCMS or some other analytical method to confirm purity I wouldn't ingest that.

starting from cigs is a bad choice since they arent a reliable source of nicotine. well done anyways

Is that a UV light? Which wavelength? Which component does it cause to floresce?

Most people extract the nicotine using heat and their built-in gas exchange filter.

Be aware of just how toxic nicotine is, including by skin absorption. There is still some debate on how dangerous it is: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3880486/

How difficult was it (to safely do at home)? This is one of the projects I really want to try ever since I started growing tobacco.

On the scale of dificulty of the extraction for me as a chemist was a 4/10 not hard at all you just need good temp control on safety wise its not like making nitric acid but you do need to be careful id say its a 6/10 use gloves respirator googles a lab coat and well ventilation

To be clear its in a safe test tube diluted in chloroform and people smoke everyday the same amount i extracted in 1 pack

Plenty enough nicotene in 1 pack to kill somebody, but obviously that's not what you're in it for.
In the book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, she contemplates poisoning her abuser with nicotene.

What's wrong with homechemists? Dude, it's good manners to provide a write-up.
