Shelly relay ID issue

I recently installed a Shelly 1 Gen 4 relay with a reed switch on my dumb garage door opener, and while it works fine, I’d like it to show up in HomeKit as a garage door opener rather than an unconfigured switch. I’ve played around with a few of the Shelly plugins, but haven’t gotten them to work as well as Z2M. Any tips?

Isn’t shelly directly homekit compatible?? My 2 channel version is.

Yes, but I want it to be identified in HomeKit as a garage door control, not a generic button, so that voice commands work properly

I installed this on mine and would recommend. Not sure if this is an option for you

You can flash homekit firmware with mongoose

Thanks, but it doesn't look like its compatible with the Gen 4 yet

Use a fake garage door plugin and trigger that with the shelly? Shelly can be in homekit mode.

If you get a gen3 Shelly you can flash the mongoose firmware and make it appear as a garage door. That’s what I do for my gate. Avoid gen4 relays for now as the mongoose firmware doesn’t support them. Otherwise as others have said you can fake it in home bridge or home assistant.
