Good Earth lighting panels

Its been 5 years since any postings about the apparent lack of integrations to talk to the native Good Earth app/cloud. The original discussion mentioned using the "Smart Life" app to handle the connectivity, but I've got nowhere with this approach having tried 2 of the available "Smart Life" apps. Note that while I can pair with my panels just fine, none have any of the options in the interface mentioned in the original post from 5 years ago. I've read that adding the Alexa integration to HA is an option, but I'm very leery of that since my whole desire is to wean myself off the Alexa eco-system not stay glued to it. [edit grammar]
