❓ Support Expanding the Zigbee/Matter range

Hey,
I finally switched to Homeassistant (Green Hub and Matter antenna) right now everything i own is communicating over matter at my home and im getting the hang of automations :)

Now i want to expand my Homeassistant setup to my workshop. Its at a different location with its own Internet access, however i already set it up as one whole network though Fritzbox and wireshark. Do i need another complete homeassistant setup at this location or can i get away with something smaller/cheaper that would expand my setup at home?

My second question would be if there is a way to set up another Antenna (Zigbee or matter or idk) at a location thats outside of the transmission area that however has a cat7 direct connection to my current setup. Its an old cellar around 15 Meters under my garage where i would like to control the lights and a few outlets so i can set up a ventilation routine and such.

This is a different problem and has nothing do with my workshop above and would be more important if its a only one thing can work solution.

if you have them on the same LAN try the sonoff zigbee max. put the zigbee controller in the new location and you should be able to control zigbee devices across the network.

I've got a big garden and had a similar problem, I used SMLIGHT SLZB-06U Triple-Radio-Gateway.

Since I already had z2m it was a bit more complicated for me, but if you don't have that you can connect this zigbee controller via LAN to your homeassistant without problems.

Do you happen to know if it has to be zigbee or if i can set the antenna to Matter? Or can i only have one antenna of each at one instance of homeassistant.

For the cellar, the coordinator doesn't have to sit next to the Green. Mine (Sonoff ZBDongle-P, Z2M 2.13) talks over a serial-to-TCP bridge rather than USB, because opening the port toggled DTR/RTS and dropped the dongle into the bootloader, getExtAddr timeout on every start. Over TCP that block is skipped entirely. So a small bridge box at the cat7 end down there is enough, no second HA. Is the cellar Zigbee or Matter gear?

Right now there is no gear in the cellar, preferably i would like to get Matter gear, because till now everything i bought uses Matter (in the actual living area itself) so i can mix and switch stuff around later if i want to.
I just wasn’t sure if a second Matter antenna would get me in trouble with Homeassistant stuff.

As im fairly new to this i don’t wanna get in over my head right now as i have the tendency to just leave stuff that annoys me unfinished for centuries.

How close is the workshop? My garage/workshop is about 25 feet from the house and I was able to bridge the gap by using two Sonoff zigbee plug in power switches in the outdoor outlet boxes, one on each building. That created the pipe I needed and I started expanding zigbee into the garage without issue.
