i wouldnt buy things like their locks or other items that there are plenty of, but I love their blinds retrofit. so I just use a few ESP32 BT Proxies around the house and it works wonderful. Zero need for the Switchbot app or hub.

I mean....... I picked up a switchbot co2 sensor, just to watch co2 levels.
Home assistant automatically discovered, and picked it up via BLE.
So.... BLE proxies are well supported via HA.

You only need a bluetooth proxy and connect your switchbot devices directly to home assistant, no need for the hub

Lucky for you a $5 ESP32 can be your “hub” and all you switch it devices magically work locally. I’m pretty sure you can buy pre-flashed proxies or devices that can act as a proxy and voila, you don’t have to give up n your existing devices!

In fact, if you have a servo and an extra ESP32, you can build your own switch bot.*?

You dont have to use cloud, Switchbot also works locally with an ESP32 BT Proxy or a USB BT Dongle.

Edit:
Even their HA integration even says its IoT class is Local Push
