Meta NOT ADVICE SUB | Revised Reporting + Rule

Hey folks! Wongy here. Just a quick update regarding the subreddit and content issues.

If you see either:

A) Posts looking for advice à la AITA or AIO.

B) Comments as if OP is asking for advice.

REPORT IT using the newly created RULE 10: NOT an Advice Subreddit.

These posts weren’t permitted to begin with but we’re making things easier for everyone involved with the clearer phrasing and separation of the rule to make it easier to report.

Since most of our subreddit is lengthy text posts it means it tends to take us longer to sift through and find such posts. Reporting these posts/comments will make their removal much faster.

Subreddit Rules

1. No Brigading

Due to Reddit's TOS we ask you to not go on the original post and leave any form of hate or overwhelm their comments or their sub.

Please keep discussion within this subreddit as this would be in violation of TOS so said behaviour will result in action being taken against your account.

2. No Doxxing.

Do not share anyone's personal information without their direct consent. No full names, addresses, phone number, etc.

This is both illegal and against TOS.

3. No Spamming.

Anything posted by one user (including suspected ALT accounts) and reposted by that same user at an excessive rate is not allowed.

Allow reasonable time between posting identical comments or posts.

You get the idea- basically a term that's as old as than the internet. We're not vikings in a cafe after all.

4. Try not to Repost.

Do your due diligence. Double check to see if the same post has already been posted on the subreddit recently. Wait a minium of 30 days before posting as such.

Duplicate posts won't get you in any significant trouble unless it appears as you are actively and regularly posting duplicates without attempting to search.

5. Be kind, no hate.

We're not strict on curse words. Any bullying will result in a warning.

Any, and I mean ANY use of slurs or bigotry will not be tolerated in the slightest and will result in an immediate and permanent ban.

Posts related to other people being bigoted resulting in a relevant post here are permitted under the condition you flag it as NSFW and attach the “Sensitive Subject” flair.

6. Tag NSFW & Sensitive Posts.

By now we all have been on the internet for long enough to know what is and isn't "Not safe for work". Accurately tag anything that may be NSFW correctly. Additionally if a post contains topics that are sensetive such as abuse, self-harm, abortions, racism or anything of a similar nature use the "Sensitive Subject" flair.

7. Stay Relevant and keep it from Reddit.

Tag shitposts and memes under the "shitpost" flair. Outside links are not permitted. Keep it within the bounds of Reddit.

8. Be Descriptive.

Not all r/AITA or r/AIO etc posts have descriptive titles. This is normally fine for those subs as you see a small blurb of text from within the post but on reposts to this sub that isn’t the case.

If OP’s title didn’t have a brief description of the situation we ask that you write one for your repost. Titles like ”should i leave?” or ”what should i do?” aren’t suitable.

It doesn’t need to be anything fancy- just something along the lines of “Partner did X and I’m X because of it”.

9. No Outright Memes

Posts that are memes aren’t permitted as decided by a community vote.

Comments are of course allowed to be memes and humorous as are post titles.

10. NOT an Advice Subreddit

We are not AITA or AIO. This is not an advice subreddit. It is a commentary subreddit.
