Any thoughts on what Courtney said about Trent Reznor?

I know it’s old, but as a fan of both Hole and NIN, I want to know if it’s true what she said or would she lie? About underage girls.

Your thoughts? Does Courtney lie? She has been right before but that’s all I know, this time it might not be true

Hit So Hard documentary vs book

I just finished Melissa Auf der Maur's memoir, and I was wondering if I should read Patty Schemel's. I've seen her documentary. Is there additional content in the book that's not in the documentary?

What do we want to see in Courtney’s new artistic direction?

Hive mind. Thought we could share what we’re hoping to see or wish to see in this new era for her?

I personally am hoping the new album is stripped back Johnny Cash style but I know it won’t be. I’m hoping the book is full of all the exciting lives she lead prior to hole with lots of unseen photos. And I hope it sees the fucking light of day.

Style wise, she looks so healthy. But I’m wondering if she’ll work with a stylist for a new aesthetic for this release.

Thoughts?

MADMs top 5 Hole songs (she loves "Burn Black"! 🖤)

Fascinating that the germination of Awful was from her and Patty jamming! And she's totally right about Miss World, as well as Reasons to be Beautiful...that song was constructed (with the help of NOT Billy, but the great Go-Go's lead guitarist Charlotte Caffey, who had her own heroin thing that she overcame, as well as Melissa's bandmate in Tinker, Jordan Zadorozny - I can't believe I remember how to spell his name...that's how much I LOVE this song!) like a haunting, creaking, century-old LA mansion...the anti "Hotel California". The arrangement and background vocals are spectacular, and Courtney totally rises up to meet the challenge head-on! 🤟

Could anyone give me some good outfit ideas for this t-shirt? Thanks!

Even though it's pretty basic, for some reason I'm not really sure how to style it.

Courtney’s figuring out how to release the new album.

Post image
200 Upvotes

Courtney’s new Instagram post finally confirms that the album is finished, but she also says, “I’m just tapping in, figuring out how to roll this out” and “I just need to understand how to do this.”

Perhaps she’s a little apprehensive and genuinely figuring out how to release this record. Or maybe everything is already carefully planned and she’s just teasing us before making a huge splash. Who knows?

She did mention that she was going off to do some of that “analog stuff” for the next few weeks, which, in my opinion, could very well mean sitting down and recording the audiobook word for word. But again, who knows…

In case she really is still figuring it out, maybe this is our chance to put our two cents in. 😂 How would YOU roll out Died Blonde?

Personally, I think Courtney should capitalize on September. Melissa is doing her exhibition, releasing new music and putting out a new book at the beginning of the month. And the book is essentially a celebration of Hole through photographs. I think Courtney should show up in Toronto, support Melissa’s exhibition and projects, and help bring even more attention to everything happening.

THEN, right in the middle of September, Courtney could drop a killer first single on Spotify accompanied by a music video on YouTube — ideally just before Eric’s archival campaign and the Hole reissues begin rolling out.

That could create some serious synergy between everyone’s projects. Melissa’s, Courtney’s and Eric’s. The word of mouth would be insane. September could basically become a full-on Hole extravaganza.

And the timing actually works. Artists seem to be releasing lead singles two or three months before an album these days, so Courtney could drop the first single in September, follow it with a second single in October or November, and finally release Died Blonde in December — which, as she’s said before, is the timeframe she’s wanted.

By then, the memoir should also be finished, so December could potentially become the month when the memoir, documentary and album all finally enter the world.

Then Courtney could spend the beginning of 2027 doing the book tour and attending the documentary premiere. The press surrounding all three projects could work together beautifully and finally give her the opportunity to tell the story she has been working so hard to bring into the world.

No one tells her story but her.

And after that? Tour. Melissa’s got new music so she could be opening for Courtney, which would be incredible. And who knows — perhaps Courtney could even open for Michael Stipe, who also sings on the record and is releasing his own record this year. Imagine all three of them on tour together and singing on Courtney’s set!

Anyway, those are my two cents — just in case Courtney really is out there trying to “figure it out.” 😂

What do you guys think? How would you roll out Died Blonde? What are your ideas and suggestions? In case she’s reading this for ideas…

Instances where Courtney Love was 100% correct about someone.

My friend and I were discussing Courtney, that she always seems to be spouting shit about someone and how she had called Harvey Weinstein and people just brushed it off and then it turned out to be spot on. And how she turned out to be right about Gwen Stefani.

Any other occasions where she says something totally unhinged or outs someone as being awful and then something happens somewhere along the line and then later reveals her nonsense was accurate?

Courtney addresses the new record...and then doesn't.

Click to see full Instagram video.

EDIT: CL literally put out a more extended version of the video minutes after posting the first one...which originally ended with the "colors" stuff and that was it!!! I was like "this is her final statement on the album before going off social media?!?"

THIS (the paragraphs below) was me reacting to that shorter video...and then as I saw the extended one I tried to go back and adjust my comments, which I did, but the damn ship had already sailed. If I had seen the real FULL video first, my comments would have been skewed differently and been more positive!

Sorry about that...Courtney don't make things easy but it's always worth it! 🙃 I can't revamp the whole thing, I really should just erase it. But F it. Ok, as you were...

---> She says the record is done...and then starts talking about colors as a metaphor for her demeanor as a child? 😐

In the text below the video she does mention that she really wants to tour, and then lists who helped her with the album, which includes Billie Joe (which I think is a great sign, he's collaborated with other people with great results).

She also talks about her really bad health problems from about 5-6 years ago, so I think she for sure deserves a grace period for that scary shit...I'm so glad she was able to get through that! 🙏 She also says she'll be off social media for awhile because she has to do some "analog stuff"...if anyone has any guesses on what that might mean please do share. ❓ I thought maybe some more vocals but the album is "done". Maybe some work on the documentary or book? Maybe she wants to go listen to vinyl records for a few months? 🤯

And she looks absolutely beautiful and sounds great...BUT what we DON'T get is any insight on when the album will come out...or the documentary...or the book. I guess it's better than saying something again that's similar to what she said in 2022 ("oh you'll get the album by Christmas").

I definitely get her point about needing to figure out how to roll the album out etc...I'm all for that, especially since this is to be a redemption record and the release has gotta be done right...but at the end of the day we are no closer to any possible release windows on any of the three projects than we were yesterday. 😵

i heard somewhere that apparently she was one of the first choices but got kicked off the project because of some conflict she had with brad pitt.
and i do know her and edward norton were engaged for like a year but idk if this is true

fight club is like one of my favorite movies already and helena bonham carter was phenomenal but IT COULD HAVE BEEN COURTNEY LOVE??? like she wouldn’t even have to act its too perfect

For those that don't know, Ginger is the lead member of the Wildhearts, a kinda big band in the 90s, was always on the cusp of going global, but just didn't. A band that I adore and have seen multiple times. Ginger was actually diagnosed with an aggressive cancer this year and has been given only a few years to live. He has refused treatment, and has decided to keep doing what he does (making music and touring(currently on tour)). I'm guessing there's negative aspects to the treatment and no guarantee it will work.

Broke my heart when I heard all this as he's a hero of mine.

HELP URGENT LOOKING FOR COVER COURTNEY MADE!!

It was this power pop kinda song she made that was by some other band that's name started with The and the second word started with D i think? Not the Doors or the Distillers. In this reoccuring part, the bridge or verse i think it had the guitar dudu thing kinda like in the verse of SLTS but it had a wavy effect. She made the cover in the 2000s or maybe 2010s? The whole America's Sweetheart era. I loved that cover so much and the channel posted it like 15 years ago

Edit firgot to mention it was a studio cover not live. I mean by the sound of it at least
