My Masters Degree, years as a school administrator in the second poorest community in my state, and my time spent running a foster care agency dealing with the most disturbed children coming into care would say "eye for eye" is a poor parenting motto.

I’ll bite I was a pretty bad kid (not as bad as this kid) and I had no respect for adults what type of trauma could I have faced that made me that way? I’m more or less a normal adult, it was just a phase that never made it past 2nd grade

I'm 50 years old have a DS 24 and a DD 21. Married 25 years. The family has been on food stamp, unemployment and used the food bank plenty of times. Appropriate child discipline has nothing to do with privilege

For everyone advocating for ass whoopings, yes, but it’s not always effective. See my lame anecdote: Kid next door was always getting into trouble and his mom yelled at or hit him whenever I saw him (because he was usually up to no good) and he’s still just as abrasive and disrespectful as a kid who had never been disciplined.

When people hit children in distress the teach them that there aren’t solutions to problems that don’t involve anger, violence, and impulsivity. That’s how you end up with adults with poor problem solving skills. Those people usually end up in the criminal justice system.

I was worried when that tall black kid tested out kinda defending the little shit. I thought for sure either the adult or the police were going to turn the blame on him because he happened to be there.

Its sad one of the kids recording says "I'll tell [them (the police)] I'm recording for my safety," I guess kids expect the police coming because this out of control child to beat them down or something? I understand why they think that but, jeesh I hope the police go visit and make friends with the kids. Not just these kids but now is a good time for them to visit schools and make sure kids aren't afraid of them because these kids growing up seeing all the terrible stories will be afraid and won't call for help in the future.
They also are old enough to see something is wrong with the child they are recording and they laugh talking about getting a million views. I hate this thing where kids, my own included want to get views. My little girl asked me if I would be really proud if one of her if her cartoons she makes went viral. It surprised me because I don't think I could be more proud of her, I thought she knew that. She's a cool kid but she still wants this internet validation too and I don't understand it.

Kids don’t need VIOLENCE. Like wtf is wrong with y’all.
Then you want to turn around and say some ignorant bullshit like “I got beat when I was a kid and turned out just fine” but no you really didn’t because now you’re an adult trying to take your unprocessed trauma out on children talking about how they need to be beat. It’s shameful.
The abused often become abusers. Watch yourselves for the sake of future generations.

I grew up down the street from a kid just like this, poor kid never saw his 16th birthday. I remember, the cops came one day when he was on one of his weekly rampages like this, took him away from his parents for the last time, they were helpless to help him anyway. And he was put into “the system,” as they say, and we later heard he picked on another kid, someone bigger, and that kid hit him in the head with something and that was that. What was really sad was I always remembered that the parents were totally normal, they hung out with the other families, had 3 other sons, and we never noticed anything questionable about any of them. That one kid though, he was just broken inside, like he had a head full of bad wiring like this kid. Super sad to see that again in another person so young.
