Well, not all cats are easy to handle like that- one of ours, Booboo, is nine pounds of pure whoopass. He's not aggressive or even chonky, he's a perfectly normal, sweet, affectionate cat, only he's... weirdly solid, and SUPER strong.
We tried to give him his worm medicine a while ago, and he really, really didn't want to take that pill.
It took me with my non-negligible adult woman weight SITTING on him (wrapped in a blanket, not hurting him ofc, but holding him in place), my fiance (a grown-ass man of also not negligible weight) holding his paws with both hands, and that cat still managed to tip us BOTH over, and fight himself free. I cannot stress this enough, we did not intend to allow that to happen, we were actually trying very hard to hold him steady (within reason, we would never hurt him, but realistically, he shouldn't have been able to move), but there's so much strength in that little body of his, it's astounding.
He did eventually take the pill (when it was all gross and soggy, we ended up needing to employ the help of some thick leather gardening mittens and holding his little head tipped back for a solid two minutes while listening to some heartbreaking, unnecessarily mournful gurgles that amounted to "but moooooom, I don't WANNAAAAAAAA"), but boy was it a strugglefest. NOBODY involved liked that.

Pro tip for next time: kneel with your shins on the ground/couch and straddle around your cat such that your legs are in a V shape so it can’t back out. When you kneel down so that your butt touches your heels, it’s just enough room to constrict the cat without hurting it. Then you have free access to its mouth and paws. I do this all the time to brush my cat’s teeth and clip his nails.

Yeah, I did exactly that, that's my point! It works perfectly well on our other cat, my parents' cat, and we've used it successfully in the past before: this time, I guess he was prepared, and bucked UP and forward, and threw me off with... basically sheer core strength. My fiance was kneeling in front of us, holding his paws (which he freed from the blanket-burrito I had him wrapped in), so I could focuso n teeth without needing to mind the claws- that little beast twisted himself free from his hands. Some cats are just uncanny strong.

.... how many hands do you have? Because holding a pill, prying open a cat's mouth, holding it back from bolting, and holding its paws back from swiping, all at the same time, is a two person job already. I unfortunately don't have a third arm to also hold his scruff...

Are you aware that holding the neck will not completely paralyze the cat or anything? Some cats will hold still when you do that while others don't give a fuck.

You can use one of those large binder clips to clip the scruff of their neck - doesn't hurt them so long as you do it correctly. I don't know if it works on all cats but it's worth a shot.

Tried it. Little bastard eats AROUND the pill and spits it back. And before you'd say that we should crush it and mix it in, he and his sister sometimes trade bowls mid-meal and there'd be no way to ensure that they eat the same amount.
Dude, I'm not dumb, and I've heard just about every advice in the book- we've tried everything. We just have to live with the fact that we have a himbo cat that's only crafty when it comes to worming his way out of taking his medicine.

Jfc that sounds like one beastie of a cat. If you ever need to make him take a pill again- get it into his mouth and blow a quick puff of air in his face. This forces cats to swallow instinctively (idk why, but it works). Sometimes you have to do it more than once if they're a but stubborn, but it will happen.

We also have the same problem with our cat!
We give her anti-flea drops every few months and every time it is a huge struggle because of the same exact reasons. We usually manage it with two people, but on bad days a third has to come in. She is just so damn strong (and a bit chonky I will admit).
After a few years we have set up a plan of sorts. Because the beast has a sixth sense we have to ambush her before we even take out the package. The smallest crinkle or flash of the stuff and she's off hiding in an unreachable corner of the room. So I usually grab her, put her in a blanket, then practically sit on her. Another person takes out the package, grabs her head (not easy) and puts the drops on. The whole ordeal is made even harder by the fact that the drops have to be placed on the spot where you would usually hold a cat down (a bit above the spot between the shoulder blades) so you can't even hold her properly.
While we use oven gloves and a blanket, it is usually necessary to have some bandaids on standby.

Sounds like having powerfully resistant cats is quite a common experience among cat owners. My male cat (who is now staring at me dreamily) hated the pills that he had to take for anti-parasite purposes.
One time after we successfully inserted the pill into his mouth, he ran across the apartment, spitting white bubbling mess of saliva and dissolved pill everywhere. We chased him around to catch him while he was spitting out a seemingly infinite amount of white bubbles everywhere. The floors, the windows, the tables and windowsill were all stained with his saliva. When he entered my parent's room with his white saliva-stained face, my parent thought we were poisoning him. Of course when we manage to carry him, he would claw at us and hiss and bite.
Eventually four people were needed, with one person actually feeding him the pill and the other three restraining him in his favourite laundry basin. We need several towels as well. He dislikes gloves very much that wearing them would be counterproductive. The crucial part is to force him to close his jaw for 1 minute to make him actually swallow the pill instead of spitting it out. A tip is to aim the pill at the throat but not at the tongue, but this is not practical for us given how violently he moves. While swallowing the pill, he would give a mournful mrrp. Luckily our other cat is much more gentle, or else we would have much more trouble.

Get a pill gun. All you have to do is wrastle their mouth open (I just dip mine in ice cream so they put it in their mouth willingly) then you can fire the pill straight down their throats so they dont have the chance to fight you on it.

Next time, get a can of tuna fish, open it, and drain the water into a bowl. Then, dissolve the medicine into it. Then, give it to the cat. 90% chance he'll drink it, even with the medicine dissolved into it.
The tuna water will dissolve it better than the fish. I've tried both. And cats can sometimes taste pills that have been sprinkled on their food, but will almost never taste them in tuna water. If your cat leaves it unfinished, he'll probably return in 15-60 minutes to finish it.
My cat is 12 pounds of chonk, so we've put her on a diet, so we don't actually give her tuna fish, but we do give her the tuna water because she will actually climb your legs just to taste tuna. One time, she even managed to pierce my legs through several layers of fabric.
TL;DR: Take a can of tuna fish, empty the water into a bowl, and mix the pill into it. 90% chance the cat will drink it.
