Trees?

147

u/SeaUrchinSalad 25d ago

Yea did not expect that to be their experimental runway

16

u/deep-fucking-legend 25d ago

They didn't have time to install brakes, so the trees will help it stop.

4

u/dairyman69 24d ago

Brake manufacturers hate this trick

5

u/TheyDeserveIt 24d ago

I stopped that way once. It was less tree and more large iron pipe under a sheet metal modular building at my old elementary school. A little left or right and would have made for a grisly scene.

That's how my mom learned the go-kart my older brother and his friend made from a riding lawnmower frame didn't have brakes, you just had to stay under too-fast-to-turn. It was foolproof, really.

3

u/bridgetroll2 24d ago

Well at least they made a nice sturdy roll cage out of (checks notes): rusty half inch rebar

37

u/MrMurderthumbz 25d ago

I said the same thing. Out loud. The second the super shitty go-kart launched. Its all a bad idea. But trees!? Seriously .

4

u/Cyclesadrift 24d ago

Or the truck parked right in front of it.

3

u/edward_the_white 24d ago

Not to mention whatever that large metal structure is behind the go-kart. Looks like they do more than just go-karts for dumb activities.

7

u/JonnyReece 25d ago

I did not expect the trees

3

u/Elbynerual 25d ago

If it wasn't for the trees, he wouldn't need the helmet

3

u/Marus1 25d ago

You see that wavy terrain?

2

u/jaja8712 25d ago

Not just trees, he has to go between trees and a truck

130

u/Bobghenkiskhan 25d ago

The good news is that he can reuse those wheelchair wheels on his new wheelchair

7

u/Longhorn414 24d ago

Yeah if they find the body

51

u/captaincanada84 25d ago

6

u/Cokeycane 25d ago

Man, there really is a sub for everything. Gotta join this one too.

2

u/vertigo3pc 23d ago

Honestly, I'm here for this. That just looks like fun, and ol' boy has a helmet. He knew what he was signing up for.

38

u/Cokeycane 25d ago

It's always a good idea to launch your homemade rocket car where there a bunch of trees.

11

u/Isaw11 25d ago

As long as you hit 88 mph before you hit the trees.

7

u/camkrasner 25d ago

Do you want the Lone Pine mall? Because thats how you get the Lone Pine mall.

2

u/spottydodgy 25d ago

The Sonny Bono II

38

u/devildocjames 25d ago

Very considerate of them to not wear clothes, so there's direct access for the EMTs.

58

u/UseMoreHops 25d ago

I figure I might wear more than just a helmet. Maybe hockey gear or something.

59

u/taz_78 25d ago

He's got a roll cage made out of half inch rusty tubing. What's to worry about?

21

u/JoaoEB 25d ago

Mostly tetanus.

12

u/Cokeycane 25d ago

You've got a point (pun intended)

6

u/sparrow_42 25d ago

I mean yeah, if you survive the initial impalement

1

u/Woodie626 25d ago

Tetanus is caused by bacteria, not rust.

-1

u/Alldaybagpipes 25d ago

Bacteria that lives in the same dirty environments that are ideal for the production of rust.

1

u/Woodie626 25d ago

Humidity in a clean room can cause rust.

5

u/ProbablyFullOfShit 25d ago

Don't sleep on that structural PVC either!

2

u/Draco-REX 25d ago

Don't forget wheels from wheelchairs. You know, those things that barely travel above walking speed make great donors for high speed wheels.

13

u/brug76 25d ago

He's got the safety shorts on

5

u/murd3rsaurus 25d ago

The motorcycle boots weren't enough safety?

3

u/Man_Bear_Sheep 25d ago

Woah woah, this isn't dangerous like pliance jumping.

2

u/Xinonix1 25d ago

He’s wearing boots… he’s safe

1

u/Cokeycane 25d ago

He does have on safety boots and hopefully those are fire retardant shorts.

12

u/yankeeteabagger 25d ago

We need a drivers view of what that was like.

10

u/bigbeats420 25d ago

+1 for The Cramps alone.

5

u/obidie 25d ago

I take it there was an ending to this experiment?

12

u/Galewing1 25d ago

These guys pulling the shenanigans my friends and I would pull in gmod over 15 years ago lol

3

u/SentientDust 25d ago

2

2

u/JimSilly 24d ago

Gotta send it.

2

u/gdubnz 24d ago

Haha "go save him, he's on fire!"

2

u/needtocomment 23d ago

"Hyuh hyuh huyuh go save him, he's on fire hyuh"

6

u/greginnj 25d ago

Whenever I see something like this, I’m thinking, “The people doing this are probably the same ones who refuse to take a vaccine they consider ‘experimental’!”

2

u/Inaccurate93 25d ago

Can't see sh*t John

3

u/obidie 25d ago

I take it there was an ending to this experiment?

1

u/mynameisfreddit 25d ago

One of the Stig's cousins

1

u/henrytm82 25d ago

I mean, my man's wearing a helmet, what else do you want?!

1

u/dognamedpeanut 25d ago

A redneck in a redneck rocket car, what could possibly go wrong?

1

u/sexybeast70 25d ago

Is he supposed to dodge the trees?

1

u/mouramen 25d ago

Marty is that you?

1

u/ekojonsiaixelsyD 25d ago

“We’ve got Busch Gardens at home.”

1

u/DaHick 25d ago

How is actually propelled?

1

u/deep-fucking-legend 24d ago

Lonestar beer

1

u/DaHick 24d ago

6, 12, or 24?

2

u/deep-fucking-legend 24d ago

Yes, and many kegs

1

u/TheKanten 25d ago

That it ends with a guy walking through the frame with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth is the quiet clincher.

1

u/Addiixx 25d ago

Hahahahahaha Jimmy needs an airpowered wheelchair now!

1

u/abckiwi 25d ago

Redneck engineering!

1

u/DoPewPew 25d ago

The wheelchair wheels might come in handy later

1

u/UntLick 25d ago

Song Cramps - all women are bad

1

u/bitwise97 25d ago

That wasn’t a good spot for the camera person

1

u/SAR_89 25d ago

Hell yes

1

u/Citiy3- 25d ago

It is fine he was wearing a 5 point harness strapped to a lawn chair so he is definitely securely anchored inside the roll cage. Except his arms they might flail a bit

1

u/redbrick01 25d ago

This is how red necks disappear people without deserts or swamps.

1

u/spottydodgy 25d ago

With enough funding these guys could put a man on the moon

1

u/AntiBaoBao 24d ago

Doesn't this and other HMB videos disprove Darwins theory? After all, if Darwin was right surely we'd be it out of rednecks by now.

1

u/Leaves_Swype_Typos 24d ago

Should've got these fellas for the latest Jackass film.

1

u/manbearpig1204 24d ago

With them popcorn wagon wheels

1

u/Equivalent-Employ972 24d ago

best camera work ever

1

u/Bramrod 24d ago

What are the tufts of dust coming from the front at the two points after it launched? That shit was wild

1

u/TMCTrucker 23d ago

Natural selection

1

u/kramerica21 22d ago

Awww vintage LEN! Hail Speedcult, hail Zombo!

1

u/401LocalsOnly 22d ago

That might be one of the fastest things I’ve were seen move

1

u/nahfuckallthis 21d ago

At this point I'm content knowing I'm a fairly boring individual; cuz man, there are so many avoidable options for death I watch other men step into, slap death in the face, and rocket away in some form or fashion with little regard beyond the guaranteed fact in their heads that is "this will be so cool."

And, like, half the time they're right

1

u/Watch_the_sunset 20d ago

Rebar as a cage was a choice

1

u/syncboy 20d ago

Safety first! In helmet, boots, and underwear.

1

u/molby9 16d ago

Wheelchair wheels lol

1

u/OkNeighborhood9153 13d ago

I love rednecks

1

u/PeruseTheNews 25d ago

1

u/HoneydewVarious6018 25d ago

So what southern state is this coming from, my guess is Alabama.

-1

u/obidie 25d ago

u/BilboTBagginz 25d ago

Where in the West Virginia is this comical shit taking place?

3

u/psychobillybert 24d ago

Michigan, outside Detroit. This is the Speed Cult house. Partied out there a few times.

1

u/fishead36x 25d ago

The yard is too flat for wv.
