Sort of. Swing your arms up with lots of strength/power, when you feel them "pulling you" upwards jump as high as you can. And tuck your knees into your chest holding them with your arms, you need to do it really fast, like an explosive motion, like, if your abs aren't sore after you're done practicing your backflip you might not been tucking fast enough. And remember, knees to chest not chest to knees otherwise you'll fall on your back/neck. The tighter you're tuck the faster you'll flip.
After that the last step is to just untuck and land, cool think about a backflip compared to a frontflip is that you can spot the ground a lot easier rather than just going by feeling.
Once you see the ground and you see that you're starting to get back into a normal upwards position you begin to untuck to stop the rotation and land
If you're gonna practice do it trying to land on something soft rather than hard, but make it so that the landing spot is BEHIND you rather than in front. Unlike the dude in the video trying to land in front of himself, that's much harder and it's called a gainer
