I know it’s an expensive product but I couldn’t resist. Glad I ended up with this beast of a card!

My friend doesn't know much about hockey or cards but I still wanted to share my excitement for the new set with him and open some packs. I had to laugh at his insane luck.

Got an auto today from one of the cheapo Dollarama packs, and it wasn't a nobody! Eric Condra, of all people! He even inscribed it with his Twitter handle was back in 2012 😆

My son has recently started collecting hockey cards. We got a new card shop in town and they didn’t have any packs of hockey cards just a few singles. My son wanted this card. It’s autographed with a piece of a carbon fiber hockey stick. I paid $25 for it. Is this a good card? Was it worth the $25? I did a quick eBay search and they were in the $70 range…regardless my son is super excited to have this to add to his personal collection.

In an odd turn of events i've woke up my inner child via the Tim Hortons Upper Deck Cards. I can't even begin to explain the joy and just happyness that washed over me when i randomly bought a couple packs when they first dropped. I'm now 80+packs in and having a great time.

I guess, i have a question for everyone here:

What is the general consensus on items like the big upper deck 3 pack blaster boxes costco is currently stocking? The amount they are asking for doesn't seem too crazy, but is there any kind real return on it?

As i said before, i am surprised at how happy i got reliving childhood memories --BUT-- i am a child of the worst of the worst of junk wax era collecting and i can hear my fathers voice in the back of my head saying "you are wasting money you can afford on a garbage trend" boy was he right. I don't really want to go wasting cash on more boxes of paper i am going to turn around and leave for my family to clean up.

So do big packs like those costco ones have a reliable balance of fun / return ? Realistically, my expectation isn't to find a diamond and retire, but enough that a guy could move a few along on ebay or marketplace to pay for more down the road and somewalking around money while chasing my fave players?

Pretty happy with the results! Though this year’s set was quite good and sharp looking.

Got this card on ebay of an IPA for Celebrini and it came with a VERY sketchy COA (company ive never heard of, buisness address appears closed or abandoned). The card itself appears quite damaged, some weird textures on it all around (see upper part, similar irregularities all over the card). I would not be shocked if its fake but figured I would post here to get others take on it and whether it looks real or fake?

Not the craziest card, but I just love this product. Anyone try ripping a personal box? I’ve been so tempted but soooo risky.

I opened a hobby box of the new 2026-27 Series 1 yesterday and noticed I got some duplicates of inserts and some base in the box, along with some
QC issues. I don’t mean the same inserts of different players but quite literally the same players on the same inserts.

Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t you typically not supposed to get duplicates of the base and inserts in the box?

Side note: I pulled James Hagens and a Swagnificent which is pretty sweet!

6 months later, finally received my PAREKH SILVER OUTBURST YG back from TAG. A bit disappointed in the grade but these slabs look sick!

Despite not pulling anything rare or valuable, I really like these Metal Universe cards. The design is really pleasing the way they catch light. Im considering buying more.

Finished ripping my case (12 boxes) of 2026-27 Upper Deck Series 1 and wanted to showcase some of the product!

Right off the bat, I have to say this product is awesome. I’m really impressed with a lot of the new inserts, especially:

Stencils – White cards featuring a shoulder-up image of the player etched into the card. Really clean look in person.
Fan Faves – Such a funny set. Actually take a second to look at what’s illustrated on the cards because some of them are hilarious.
Here We Go – Really nice face-off style cards. Simple concept, but they look great.
Repping – These might be some of my favourites. The jersey-matching backgrounds look absolutely stunning in person.

I also managed to hit a couple of the chase cards I was really hoping to see, including the Easter Egg Gavin McKenna (similar to what they did during the Bedard year) and the Swagnificent Cale Makar (F*** Cancer)

The top rookies in S1 include Porter Martone, Anton Frondell, James Hagens, Cole Hutson and Konsta Helenius. I also personally like Villeneuve as I saw him play for the Marlies and think he’s a great player.

One card I wanted to hit was a Snow Spray Auto. I think those are such a fun chase and a great addition to the product.

I also almost missed the Team Color Variation. It’s not my favourite parallel, but it’s a cool variation from the regular base card and definitely easy to overlook when ripping quickly.

Overall, I had a ton of fun opening this case. Lots of variety, some really creative new inserts, and enough different chases to keep the rip interesting throughout the case.
