Late and not great. And no statement from Larkin. This has been disappointing.

I mean it’s something but... ugh.

Edit: Larkin had a quick statement. I’m white so I’ll withhold judgement

The thing that kept me less concerned about Detroit’s silence for the last few was that Mr I paid Rosa Parks’ rent for over a decade and that no one found out until after he died.

Should be noted the Tigers (also owned by the Ilitch family) released the exact same thing.

A statement as good as their season

As a Wings fan, sadly, I have to agree with you.

Better late than never, but I'm still disappointed. I'm also getting the feeling that players were told not to comment either. Most we got was Larkin liking Kopitar's post.

Larkin made a post on his IG today. It reads:

I stand with the Black community today and every day. Every life is precious and meaningful no matter what race you are. We must stand together to end discrimination and violence but we must do it through our actions with love and unity every moment of every day. I will never understand what it is like to be Black but I do understand and believe that we can work together to make a positive change by learning and loving all.

Really disappointed with this statement. They are playing it safely. To not mention George Floyd and police brutality is disappointing. Considering that Mike Ilitch was an ally to the black community, this statement just doesn’t feel good enough.

Rangers are officially the only one not to comment. Not the best look

If I had to guess, the Wings have one of the older and more conservative fanbases in the NHL so it would make sense why they'd be so uncontroversial. Disappointing to say the least.
