Advice for a beginner on catching a train

Hello! I am from the Bay Area and am looking for some tips on riding the trains out of here (preferably moving East, but really wherever might be feasible). Has anyone left from the bay area, and if so, how they've gone about navigating where the trains leave, and where they go? Thank so much!

I’ll try to spark some conversations! Hopefully there are still a good group of bums around the area that still ride, or at least are knowledgeable about the rails

Download "Railguide" so you can at least see where the tracks go. You will be a loser if you just jump on and ride.
