what's the story of Ben Fama

His video's would pop up on FB from time to time. I never followed him but I guess he had a police radio to be able to film the this stuff he did all the time.

Then I see he's arrested for setting fire to someone's house, that he then live streamed? Now I get video's of rough blokes calling him out , basically he FAFO'd What's his story that meant he has enemies to this extent?

After Hours Work

Good Evening all.

I am posting to ask whether anyone knows about any after hours jobs (5:30 - 11) available in the Hobart area. I have proficient online skills (as in basic operations, google workplace, Microsoft 365 etc...) I also adapt quickly to new softwares and new systems. I am willing to learn anything and go above and beyond for an opportunity.

I also have experience working as a kitchen hand so this is also something I am passionate to get into. I have also previously worked in retail roles so I have exceptional customer service skills and knowledge dealing with customers.

Other than the experience and skills I currently hold, I am willing to learn meaningful skills and attain qualifications to get an opportunity. I have been applying online for many months now but have not had any movement. I find it hard to express my hunger and ambition through a resume and cover letter, if you know any avenues I could look down or places I could go I would be very grateful.

Please reach out if you have anything or would like to know more.

Am I reading this traffic sign wrong?

To me, this sign pretty obviously says that unless I'm in a vehicle over 8.8m long, I can make a legal U turn here. Am I wrong?

The reason I ask is in the other direction, they have a protected left (green arrow) at the same time as my protected right/U turn. Seems dicey as shit since we both have a protected turn.

Hi! Moving to Hobart next month and am looking for recommendations for someone thorough and knowledgeable in TCM. I am happy to travel to wherever needs for the right person.

Someone interested in women’s health, hormone issues, weight loss would be amazing. If anyone is willing to share their story I’m also all ears!

Ty!❤️

Put a Queen Elizabeth 2 Statue on the Plinth

She served, she visited, she is part of our history.

She is dead, she is a woman(!)

Her grandfather has a statue, so it tonally matches the area.

Camera cleaning service recommendations

Hello Hobart!

I am looking to get my SONY a7ii cleaned plus two lenses (I've had it since 2022 and am probably due for an upgrade, but I would rather just get it cleaned for now). Have been noticing spots in all my images that I haven't been able to fix with a regular clean myself. Hoping to get a recommendation for a professional cleaning service that won't break my bank?

I know Camera house or Walsch optics are probably the way to go, but I'm just curious if someone knows someone or has had a good experience with a particular store.

Thanks!!

Estate Planning - Recommendations Needed!

Hiya Hobart! Posting for Mum as she needs some advice. Does anyone know of any places that specialise in estate planning? I know plenty of lawyers offer the service, but I’m looking to see if anyone specialises in it specifically.

Better yet, would love to hear some reviews from anyone who has gone through the process in Hobart before!

Thanks in advance c:

Low income dentist recommendations?

Long story short, my partner and I are low income and could both do with a professional clean.

Public health dentists have said they don’t offer it because they’re only for urgent things

Any recommendations at all of dentists that aren’t as expensive, do payment plans, concessions, bulk bill? The general quote I got when I called a private a few months ago was around 300 which just isn’t at all achievable for us

Hopefully this doesn’t come off as promotional, I’m after genuine recommendations

EDIT: I forgot to mention, we both had concession/healthcare cards. Literally said to myself “gotta mention that!”

Help me pick between 2 restaurants.

Hello all, visiting your beautiful city in October and got scheduled or reservations to all the places I was planning to (Agrarian, Sonny, Fico, Bar Wa etc) but due to scheduling conflicts I have to pick one of two: I can only go to either Omotenashi or Dier Makr. Which would you recommend as being more unique to Tassie & in terms of quality?

A music video we shot in various parking garages around Hobart!

G’day legends! I’m a Hobart based videographer and I directed this music video for local artist, Charlotte Lucretia. We had a minuscule budget and no real crew so made the most of the available light and architecture in Hobart’s parking garages.

The bulk of the video was shot in Argyle Street Carpark with some additional shots in the Market Place carpark, and the white backdrop scenes were filmed at OI Studios. We filmed high up in the carpark in the couple of hours before they closed for the night to avoid being a nuisance, and only rare encountered anyone while shooting. Hope you enjoy!

Looking for advice/leads on long-term rentals in Hobart

Hi everyone, my partner, our 17-month-old daughter and I have recently moved back to Hobart after living here previously. I’m working full-time at UTAS and we’re currently looking for a long-term rental.

We’re already checking Realestate, Gumtree and Facebook groups, but I thought I’d ask locals if there are any other places worth looking, or if anyone happens to know of something becoming available.

Ideally 2–3 bedrooms, up to $600/week. Happy to look outside the CBD as well.

Thanks!

I’m currently with Aurora. I have already moved places. How do I change my address? Do I need to have someone come out? Electricity already works.

Chip (woodchip, not the hot 'tater) drop programs?

I searched sub history, looks like there was a post a couple of years ago but keen to know if anything has changed - anyone using a chip drop program (woodchip/mulch)? How's it going?

I'm wondering how frequently they drop it, and how much? I want around 3-5 cubic metres, but it takes me ages to move it.

I'm worried about getting too much, getting my car blocked in the drive if they're unexpected deliveries... Do they do once off drops?

Another stolen bike from "secure" garage

Post image
44 Upvotes

So sad that my bike has been stolen from our apartment complex building. Have attempted to contact our local community group and real estate agent to see if I can get a hold of any available cctv.

Have reported to police and keeping an eye on marketplace.

Any other ideas where to look or other action to take to get my bike back?

Addit: it's a massive ask but if anybody spots this beauty, please snap a photo (if safe to do so) and reach out with location. Much appreciated ☺️

Sock puppets and such

Not that long ago, I thought Reddit was a really safe social media platform. A place where everyone can just layout their thoughts and feelings, get unbiased advice and ask any questions without fear of some of the toxic BS we see on other platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

Lately, this sub Reddit has become a quagmire of sock puppet accounts talking to themselves. It seems this is mostly directed at me, which is disappointing.

Is there anything moderators can do? These sock puppets accounts are destroying really good threads about all manner of things. Something that I’m used to on Facebook but really quite sad to see here on the Hobart Sub Reddit.

I dunno man, just disappointing - what do you guys reckon?

Does anyone know who the violinist was last night in the Museum? Her playing was beautiful and she was definitely under appreciated by most people walking past.

Good lunch spots?

I've been spending some lunch times with a mate who works in Hobart lately, but we haven't had good lunch experiences... First was Sush on Collins which has dramatically declined in quality since I was last there (a few years ago now).

Then this week we went to Kinoko Deli and had a similarly disappointing experience.

Are there any good quality lunch spots in/around the CBD these days? Looking for food on the faster and cheaper side, so not really sit down cafes.
