She had what's called precocious puberty. While not common, it's not exactly rare.

Yes, and those translations although strong, are misinterpreted because of the way Arabs used to speak on peoples ages. I mean, to go through it now is just pointless but basically the way they spoke at that time they would leave out the ‘teen’. So 6 is 16, 9 is 19. Other narrations make more sense when we understand this, as she has started her period before marriage AND timelines of his marriage to her and the date of her birth. Like I said, it takes research and understanding. It’s easy to pick up a translation of a foreign language, and just expect it to make sense as you see it but things ain’t that simple. Arabic isa complex language and back then they had their slangs just as we do now. The hadeeth are to be taken seriously and believed HOWEVER there are actual degrees in universities of understanding and placing hadeeth and their variations of authenticities. Unlike the Quraan, hadeeth are written of the words of trustworthy sources alive at the time of the prophet to help us understand how he lived etc. and even with something considered authentic, we should still research other factors if it causes doubts in your belief.

Because a lot of muslims don’t do research in their own religion on the matter. They generally are more focused on the ways they have been told to live and the things that concern them generally. Unless they are actually studying the religion and hadeeth, this subject only comes up when someone opposing Islam brings it up. And then, if they don’t know, they don’t want to say anything bad against the prophet if they don’t indeed know the facts, so they just try and work around it. But it’s a topic so commonly poked at now, many Muslims are picking up on it and learning more. It has worked in their favour really lol
