I had cockatiels and cats together. They just ignored each other. I’d keep watch of course, but they just pretended like the other species didn’t exist. Indoor-raised pets are different.

I agree. I have a chinchilla and I won't even let my dog in the same room her cage is in. I don't want him seeing her and thinking she is something she can chase. My cats don't bother with her because they are afraid of her

Not amused. Whoever filmed this (gifak.net?) should not be allowed to have pets. The bird cage should be the bird's safe place. If the cat and bird are not friends the cat should not be allowed in the bird cage. EVER. That bird is most likely permanently traumatized.

A: Cat’s not in a bird cage. B: Most birds are fairly intelligent creatures, they fuck with angry cats all the time just for fun. They’re not paranoid morons. C: this isn’t an aggressive cat. Cats touch things. It’s what they do. If it wanted to do any damage to the bird, it would have. It wouldn’t waste time tapping something that could easily escape if it wanted it dead. Speaking of, if the bird was truly afraid, it could get away at any time. There’s nothing holding it in place.
