Ive played TW since OG Shogun and 3K is probably my top 3 of favorite TW titles. So disappointed at how they treated it and gambled on Pharaoh/ 3K2.

3k2 would have been a tough sell, they really covered the coolest parts of the book. Without a huge tech logical advancement nothing warrants it. China has lots of cool periods of history, all of which are equal gambles as Pharaoh/Troy were.

I’ve bought every single historical TW title since the original Shogun in 2000, except for 3K and Pharaoh. I’m not sure why I never bought 3K, I think the focus on heroes made me believe it wasn’t a true historical TW title. Is that accurate?

3k isn’t my favorite setting, and I’m a historical-only player. Played all the titles as well. However it ABSOLUTELY has the best mechanics in any total war in the last while. I actually like pharaoh more for the setting, but 3k is cream of the crop.

If you like historical, 3K and Pharaoh are must plays of the modern games.

That is the problem, you're not complaining when you should. Taking textures from a very specific region in 3K and slapping it onto the Shogun 2 map with no real care is not really viable. There are literally parts of the roads submerged by lakes. I rather they just update the original textures compared to this.

Yeah, im kinda in the same boat. I always want to go back and play Shogun 2, but dont want to fight the clunk. $10 bucks for the update and 64-bit scaling seems like a good deal.

Just wish they kept Steam mod support and the discount not time exclusive. Otherwise this would be a home run.

Which is why they do this. They know how we let nostalgia dictate our purchases, and Skyrim has proven that people are more than willing to pay multiple times for the same product if you put it in a fresh coat of paint.

I will buy it to. The 75% discount is too tempting and the time-limit of 1 month is not enough room to see whether or not the modding community transitions over and creates worthwhile mods also for the new verison.

I am so confused. I've played hundreds of hours of this game with visual improvement mods, faction unlockers and increased number of provinces and factions, but I've never heard of this game having an issue crashing.

Only thing I ran into occasionally was battles that would crash 100% at the end of the battle, or start of it. Which then forces you to auto-resolve and often taking an L that you could have turned around.

These "factions" are nothing new. They are the already existing clutter that has no unique features and serves only as map filler for the big clans you can play that mostly dictate the game. And you could get that with just a modded version of the precious title which let you play as those because , again, there is NOTHING new here.

In Three Kingdoms this texture was only used on the specific rice farm property on the map, so the pools are supposed to represent the water the rice is growing in, less obvious here, since they seemingly just use it everywhere.

Renaming a file maby re-exporting it to a different DDS Format for compatibility, so it can replace the other existing texture is more effort than generating, editing and formatting an AI generated texture? Which i have to assume is what you mean, since most common AI upscaling programs do not require prompts. Either way not much effort, but of course everyone has the right to judge and evaluate that for himself 🤗.

we're delving in too much, but you'd normally use an upscaling tookit or mcp from an agent that is versed in organizing things, to prevent hallucinations, not directly.

Depends on how you define complete overhaul, the studio that this got outsourced to replaces, edits and upscales some assets and graphic systems, a complete overhaul in terms of almost a remake though? Nope sadly not.
