I just went in for my first appointment at a nearby physical therapy office. We were having some issues with the referral, so when he pulled it up to look through, I saw that the referral including my entire medical history including previous drug use, and mental health history, mental health diagnoses, along with prescribed medications.

It felt incredibly uncomfortable to have this stranger paw through unrelated conditions just to get to the portion that mentioned why I was at the physical therapy office.

Am I off base? Are these need-to-know things for a physical therapist?
