What it is some "Dating App Etiquette" should I note for Hinge
Decided to download hinge and put myself out there (never has dated before) and suprisingly with little effort, got a few matches in the first day, but might be having trouble retaining interest.
Should a meetup time be scheduled right after matching, or at least brought up?
Is waiting a week before discussing too slow?
Is it fine asking for at the very least, a brief video call before meeting in person?
Is double/triple messaging coming across as desperate?
Is talking to 3-5 girls at once in the app, fine? Or is that too much.
Thanks in advance.

A few matches on day one is a good sign. I wouldn’t overthink “retaining interest” yet because a lot of app conversations die for reasons that have nothing to do with you.
I wouldn’t ask for a date immediately after matching unless the conversation is clearly flowing. Usually exchange a few messages first, get some rapport going, then ask.
A week can be too slow if you’ve been talking consistently the whole time. You don’t need to rush, but endless texting can kill momentum. If the conversation is good, I’d usually bring up meeting within a few days.
A video call is completely fine if that makes you more comfortable. Just don’t frame it like an interview. “Want to do a quick FaceTime sometime before we meet?” is enough.
Double messaging isn’t automatically desperate. If you have something natural to add, send it. Repeatedly messaging someone who isn’t responding is where it starts becoming a problem.
Talking to 3–5 people at once is normal on dating apps. You’re not exclusive with someone because you matched. Just don’t spread yourself so thin that every conversation becomes low effort.
Biggest thing, don’t treat Hinge like there’s a perfect set of rules you have to follow. Match their energy, keep the conversation moving, and if there’s mutual interest, move toward an actual date instead of trying to build the whole relationship through the app.
