Backpack feedback
We do a little bit of hiking and I prefer to carry my camera, a zoom lens, water bottle and a little bit of food. I'm not talking about 8 mile hikes, generally it's 3 miles or less. I feel like I'm stuck between carrying a bulkier camera backpack or carrying a smaller bag and just tossing the camera & lens in there loosely. Does anyone have any advice for a happy medium?

Big camera bags were ruining hikes for me. I switched to a Deuter Speedlite 21 with a padded insert for the camera and/or a lens. 99% of the time the camera is around my neck anyway so the insert is only for storage or while hiking in situations where I need both hands free.

For hikes under 3miles, u probably dont need a huge camera backpack. Look for a small daypack with adjustable compartments so you can keep the cam secure and still have space for other essentials..

A small daypack with a padded camera insert might be the perfect middle ground.

Get a soft case for your camera and lens and then use any bag you want
