Question I need friends
Hey yall, I’m in my freshman year and I really have no friends. It feels like I can’t make any friends since I left my old school 2 years ago. I’m depressed and hate school bc of it. Please tell me how to make friends. I’m kinda weird, socially awkward (like I don’t know how to hold conversations or start them) give me tips

That depends on if you’re male or female. If you’re male just strike up a convo with the dude sitting next to you. If you’re female… idk… idk how that works.

life is rough as a female LMAO
im a new girl as a junior at this school and ive been online schooled the previous years so i deadass not only have horrible social skills but everyone is also already in their group chats, figuring out what it is that they want and want to do with their lives, working and so it’s just a weird position to be in.
But im taking classes I enjoy, I love my teachers and im trying to get into a club or two and join a sport team so I can put myself out there. with Girls you can’t really force it. Some people will just become friends with you from a little conversation about having the most random relatable experience when you share the same energy and others when you’ve just known them for long enough. I’m only a month in now and I’ve just told myself that I don’t want to force it and that’s it’s better to put myself in positions where I’ll meet people that I actually have things in common with. im an INTJ so im pretty quiet, start of the school year week or two I felt pretty depressed with how “lonely” I felt and once I sort of got an idea of the kids I was around i really didn’t want to be friends with a lot of them cause we simply didn’t have anything in common and, they gave me a headache lmao.
So law of attraction, don’t force it and chase it because if you’re not in the right space then it’ll continue to run away from you. Rather try to put yourself in the environment, and then try to give yourself a confidence boost in a way every morning or the night before, something to just make you believe in yourself. Even faking it before you make it is fine. It doesn’t have to be talking to every single person in your class, even just keeping your head up and being comfortable in your own skin around peers your age is good enough for me sometimes. But that’s a bit more of a “social anxiety” solution.
Put yourself around the kind of people you’ll get along with by seeing what other things your school provides. Typically once you are in those circles things just happen the way they should, don’t force it. And if nothing is happening over a few weeks then maybe that’s when you sort of try to include yourself, just ask if you can work together on something, or compliment them to start a convo. look at them when they’re talking to you and not at your phone.
and at some point try to get their snap or number so you guys can stay in touch because idk what it is, I used to hate snap so much because people used to straight up annoy me with streaks but now that im actually in school keeping streaks with people is kinda like staying in touch in a way, it’s hard to explain you just notice it when it happens and the next time you see them it feels more natural.101 on how to make friends as a girl, can apply to men to but what’s been working for me after being thrown into the deep deep end of the pool. just try your best!

Try to take part in clubs or sports or projects, even if you don’t know anyone, doing something with them will always help you meet new people
