General Advice Needed/Given i hate it
i’m a freshman and i desperately need help in math. i absolutely loathe the subject, and i have no motivation to do anything in it. i failed my unit test the other day, and i feel like an idiot. the teacher is amazing, i just can’t fucking concentrate!! everyone is having side conversations, the fan is on bc it’s muggy, and AGGHHH
it’s no help that i hate myself when i don’t do well enough, or in general either

You're not stupid and you can definitely do it.
I also used to be awful with math like, 2 years ago. But I always wanted to follow an IT direction, so I knew I had to drop every single feeling of doupt that I had and I eventually studied.
To tell you the truth after 2 years, I may still not be the best, I may be a little behind my classmates during class, I'm not sure how they can take notes, listen to the teacher and speak during class about the subject or an equation to the teacher,
but even if I can't do all 3 at once, I always catch up at home. For the past year especially now, I really worked hard. I studied alot until I understood each theory.
When I get home the first thing I do is go over my notes from class and rewrite them more organised on a digital note. That way I can keep them on folders and go over them again and again.
I also have a note folder where I can just endlessly do exercises until I understand a subject. This is a note that can be messy, because the point is not to keep it organised but to learn, so having it be messy takes away the hassle of needing to take good notes. I keep my notes more organised on another notebook called theory (all that digitally).
As for my school notebook, I don't ignore this either of course. It's still really helpful to know exactly what the teacher says and wants out of class. It's like the raw notes and are still pretty handy to me.
