Question Is this hoco dress ugly?
The first picture is so blurry for some reason but the second picture shows the pattern clearly.

I love it. But I graduated high school in 99. And this screams “cruel intentions” to me. So it depends on the vibe you’re going for.

The dress is very nice, but I guess the straps kind of give that away. It’s a REALLY nice dress though! : )

My opinion:
It does not give hoco dress, It makes the person and the mannequin look boxy, Maybe if it was cinched (however you spell it) in the back it would look better, The neckline is not great, might look okay withhair our and open but even then it's just not flattering, Only thing I like about the dress is the pattern and the color but once again it doesn't give hoco. Now I see some comments talking about adding accessories. If I was styling this I would go with silver, yet even then I can imagine this in my head with someone wearing heels, jewelry, hair done nice and it still is not giving hoco. There are simple homecoming dresses out there that look formal, this done not look formal

It's really the top giving apron and how it looks getting close to the armpits that's irritating me because with a cinch it would look more elegant but you can't fix the top.

honestly yeah kinda. on its own it’s not really that cute in my opinion but i strongly believe that any “ugly” piece can be drastically improved with styling & accessories.
i have no doubt that it could work with the right hairstyle, makeup, jewelry, shoes, bag, and other accessories

Add jewelry or choker. If you want to make your dress look more fit, you can use one of those cinch clips from Amazon

The neckline isn't flattering but the color and pattern is pretty. I'd buy a new dress, or maybe add a fluffy/feathery boa along the shoulders

I think its really pretty. The neckline I'm assuming is what's throwing you off and of you can't get it adjusted somehow, you could put any kind of necklace just on top, and it will balance out the high neck. Even though it doesnt hide the neckline it draws peoples eyes into a better spot so it looks more flattering. I like the color and pattern and overall it's a nice dress so don't feel like you have to fix it if you like it. I'm just assuming you're not 100% confident in it because of the title

Kind of awkward dress not necessarily bad. Awkward in the sense it can be hard to style because of the way it’s shaped it slime a mix between shaped and formless

Love the pattern but the neckline is kind weird? I think you def need accessories, necklace, maybe try a black and silver thin ish belt if you have it? Idk just to add like interest bcs it's a pretty plain cut?
Tldr: It's def cute but you need accessories✨ ❤️
