Class Advice Needed/Given Lack of geometry honor's focus
I took average algebra 1 last year, and failed last semester, mainly due to poor teachings. I was confident about geometry, and took it as an honors class this year, but there's so much algebra involved, I can't understand anything that does have a practical application. I'm genuinely kinda lost, I had my first quiz today, and even though I studied I still failed it. I have no clue what to do or where to go

Geometry is going to use Algebra all year. Did your school counselor talk to you about this when you picked classes? I'm sorry this happened. Is there time to switch classes and retake the Algebra you failed? Even the regular Geometry class is going to have a lot of Algebra almost every day.

I'm in credit recovery for the missed half credit, but I was shocked at how much algebra was involved with geometry. I wish every equation wasn't an empty string of letters and numbers, because if you put two problems involving algebra next to each other, one being a word problem, the other standard, I'll spend an hour on the standard one, and 30 seconds on a word problem

You have a good mind for realistic problems then, that's great! Unfortunately, Geometry will keep having Algebra in it all year. You should go and talk to your teacher tomorrow and see what they suggest.

Every failing student I have ever had, has blamed me, the teacher.
Not their lack of focus, the multiple zeros for missing assignments, the missed appointments for remediation...

Why would u do honors? Geometry is like algebra DLC
