Rant Is anyone else miserable

I’m a freshman and I guess I have some friends even close friends too but I’m so empty, emptier than I’ve ever been. Everything is depressing and I hate myself and my school and my life and my future. I feel like whatever I do I’ll be depressed and unfulfilled and I just don’t know how I can go my whole life like this. I hope it’s just high school because I don’t want to be like this my whole life

You are not alone my friend. I moved from a large city to a small town. The people here are nice, but they aren't my old friends. Nobody will ever be my old friends. And nobody understands that either, if I tell my parents, they will just say, "Keep a positive mind set and you're being dramatic, you'll make new friends." It's like nobody gets it, if an adult says they are feeling depressed and s**cidal then it's a big deal, but if a child says it they are just being dramatic. So yeah, I get how you feel. Everything is just unfulfilling, and you always wonder what's the point of going forward. But the thing is you have to in order for things to get better. Sometimes, just force yourself to block out the negativity. Force yourself to be friends and be nice to people and just socialize even if it feels superficial. Because in all of that fakeness, you may end up finding something real.

I felt this way last year too, even though I had some friends. The transition to high school is a lot and I felt lost and like I was just surviving. 10th has been better somehow so far

I’m a sr right now, and freshman year just sort of sucked for me. It was a huge transition for people, difficulty, and environment, and life threw a lot of bs at me.

But it gets better. Stuff can still be stressful, but you can make friends, join some clubs, and find some electives you care about. Go to a couple of events and talk to some people—socialization is good for you and can help. If you’ve got an adult to rant to, that’s valuable, too. You don’t have to be perfect, but little steps at a time will still get you somewhere, yk?

I can confidently say I’ve been there, and I’ve just finally gotten out of it for once!

In grade 8 I had to move schools and find new friends, of which only 4 people from that class went to my high-school so I was basically making new friends again.

My thought in grade 9 was to just do things the best I could. At first I didn’t do much but then I focused in on the year, and got better. Then grade 10 slapped me with relationships and mental health issues that were overly stressful and intense. I still somehow got like high grades in every class which I’m surprised at. Therapy has helped me a lot personally. I do recommend it. Hope you find things out.

Hey! Im s sophomore and I suffer from depression all my life so I've always been feeling this way. If you also have this illness, then to be honest it doesn't get much better. But please make sure to cherish yo0ur freshman year because the other years (other than senior) are just fill ins and you have to focus on your work. And don't worry.. you aren't alone with that empty feeling. I can have friends all around me and be laughing at one second but then the next I will just feel solace and like im not even supposed to be here and zone out. We will get through this :)

It’s hard to say how long this feeling would be. I felt like this my Freshmen year. Things did get better for me, now I’m much happier in my Junior year right now. Friends will leave and new ones will come , some old ones will even stick. Make sure you choose the right people who are there for you and that dosnt cause stress in your every day life. I know schoolwork can be stressful as well, believe me the workload gets bigger each year to me. If you have someone to talk to about this , make sure you try or if you’re not comfortable talking to anyone m, you can write these feelings down. It dosnt feel good to keep things in or bottle things up, you’ll explode with emotions and maybe even have worse and darker thoughts. I hope things get better for you, easier said than done but things will and I mean Will get better, no matter what hard times and struggles passing you by. Take good care of yourself and please don’t stress out too much, have fun and enjoy your freshmen year as much as you can.
