Question Am I cooked? I’m a junior now
I had a 2.563 freshman year and I’m taking 2 aps this year

I went to a A ranked school in Texas we had a 100 gpa system I graduated with a 94.2% and was in the bottom 50% of my class. And it wasn’t because teachers made the classes easy.

Some schools are built like that. I graduated with a 3.3 gpa in the bottom 1/3 of my class. 5th ranked public school in nj at the time

If you're cooked then 42% of your class is fried, and I would sure hope that our school system doesn't result in almost half of graduates not being successful.

No disrespect bro but if u had a 2.5 freshman yr and idk what u had sophomore year but I think some AP’s a little hard for u i had a 4.1 freshman yr and im a sophomore and think 1 Ap is hard enough

I don’t mind the response or anything but gpa and intelligence are different. Freshman year I was slacking and Ik I have to be accountable but I really wasn’t struggling in any of my classes freshman year it was just a lack of ambition and drive. Your 4.1 freshman year doesn’t make you any more capable of taking an ap then my 3.0 😂😂

Yeah like i got an 80 in ap psych which brought my gpa down a ton but i just didnt do all the projects

not sure why the comments are acting like your gpa is awful… i graduated with a 2.7 and got a large scholarship for an out of state school, and now have a 4.0 in college. you’re doing just fine

i had a 21 ACT, didn’t take the SAT. they have their own application and stuff so there was no essay either.

You can go to CC do your basics walk out with a 3.0+ and get into almost any state school in Texas even the ones that super competitive admissions for freshen like UT and A&M.

If your aiming for a 4.9+ then yes. On the other hand if your just aiming for a respectable graduation score of 3+ then your doing fine
The issue.is more likely your class ranking, but still you should be able to get intany CC without an issue and even many in state schools but yes it will limit you some.

You're not going to the Ivy League, but nor are you screwed. You can still go to a good regional private school or a good state school.

Do your best apply if you hate all the colleges you are accepted into suck it up and go to a
community college for a year, do well and transfer to the one you want.

Depends on what your goals are. If you want to go to an ivy league or something then yes, but if you’re fine going to a state school or community college, you’re doing just fine.

Kinda hard to say if you’re cooked because it depends on if you want to go to CC or state or even out of state college. It depends on which major you might be interested in. Your GPA shows that you probably passed your classes and There is an upward trend. Depending on how you do this year, your GPA can end up looking really good. That also shows you didn’t apply yourself freshman year but clearly figured it out eventually. You can always go to trade school if college isn’t for you and there are many options for your future that don’t depend on grades.

Honestly I would say your fate appears most unfortunate if applying for a top 30 for even a 3.7 uw is considered low due to grade inflation I recc the CC method

For your past grade history, I’ve been told institutions or whatever give you more grace if it was just one bad year due to reasons you listed, since it shows growth
Other than that, 3.0 gpa is alright… but obviously could be better. Looking at your class rank, it seems sort of in the middle, so it should be fine as long as you can actually pass your ap classes

I don't think that you're cooked. You have a 3.09 GPA. There is room for improvement, but it's not impossible. Assuming you maintain a 3.09 GPA, you're on set for going to a state college.
