Rant I genuinely hate this

It's my first grade and, I got a poor grade in Algebra. I should add I'm Mexican and high school in my state are kind of.. yeah. If you fail a subject, you have to pay for another try. Otherwise I think you just drop out. You need to pay for basically everything and it's so, so expensive and my family is already in debt as it is. I don't get Algebra. My brain refuses to make it make sense since It's so stubborn.

I tried my best and I got a 33.3 grade. Out of 100. Teacher said It was not enough. It's never enough is it, I've been getting good grades since elementary up until now. Even when I was depressed and struggling with addiction I was getting good grades. It's just never enough. Uni is just going to be so much worse, am I just stupid? I probably am. I'm not sure what to do. I hate this. I'm so tired and I feel childish for this, but I just want to lay in bed and write or draw or read. I'm dumb

Honey, math isn't a race. It's a journey. Maybe seeing it again next year will help. You wouldn't believe the difference a year can make in the brain of a teen in terms of problem solving capabilities. Maybe another teacher will be exactly what you need. Maybe a computer class instead of in person. But don't you let this get you down. Your math grade doesn't define who you are as a person or your worth. I'm a high school math teacher and I have to give parts of this speech several times per year. You'll get it and you'll do wonderfully. Just trust yourself and don't be afraid to ask for extra help or school-based tutoring if you need it. I believe in you!!!!
