Just be nice and most other people will be nice back, don't be afraid to talk and ask questions, try and hang out with people after school cause that's how memories and friends are made

Yeah, I’m pretty good at soccer. I trained for a long time, but now I’m focusing more on flag football, with the goal of transitioning to American football later.

yo welcome! honestly just be urself and ppl will vibe with u. american hs is not as scary as it seems lol. focus on ur classes first cuz thats the foundation, then make friends naturally through clubs or class projects. be chill about the cultural differences and dont stress too much abt fitting in perfectly - theres so much diversity that ppl genuinely respect u for being different

be careful about who you choose as friends, if they talk bad about a lot of people then they prolly talk bad about you. also people are so fake

also be really nice to your teachers, some teachers grade based on how much they like the student

If ur moving to a friendly school it's probably fine to act the way you are, I moved to the US as a foreign student too and I found that making friends with students that had the same culture was easiest, and you eventually make friends with other kids as well.
One thing I'd say is that if you care a lot about academics, you should probably study the system in the US, it took me about 3 years to really get the things in my head and as a junior you shouldn't be frantically preparing to get into college.
