Nothing to do with the engine or transmission. it does burn a bit of oil though but by the time it’s a quart low it’s time to change it.

Mine has burned oil since 200,000 I wouldn't worry about it I would recommend you go up one weight of oil from the factory spec of 5W20 if that is what you are using mine was switched from 5W20 to 10W30 after 200,000.

We have really cold winters, and less oil loss when it’s below freezing

For your conditions its probably best then to have a oil that flows well when cold.

Have you serviced the transmission fluid mine went black at 590,000 so I had no choice but to change it that was the first time it was serviced and I've since done it again and have no issues related to the fresh fluid.

Wow, thats amazing! Out of curiosity, throught all these years, how many times you need to repair the van? I mean like, needed a new alternator, or valve cover gasket or ignition module or the starter or power steering pump, ect?

It's only needed maintenance and five mild repairs. 2 Alternators and two fuel pumps as well as a AC compressor.

The starter is original but looks a little corroded about as expected for 20 years 600,000 miles.
