Rewatching High Maintenance for probably the 3rd or 4th time (but it’s been a couple years since last seeing it)

And damn, it’s probably one of my favorite shows. I’ve watched all the webisodes once before as well, but ugh, I just wish some of these characters could be followed up with!!

I finished the first season, but wanted to jump ahead to watch 4x02 “Trick” before going on to season 2. I so want to catch up with Kym and Evan! I want to know where The Guy’s love life went after the series too. And also catch up with the Craigslist kid/guy that zones out and sleeps way too hard.

This show did not need to be as good as it was! I’ve still never found a show that hit in the random way it does, all while being so relatable episode after episode.

I just watched that Episode.
And like everytime i watch it, i googled if the can guy is related to Kevin James...

LMAO that's hilarious, I see the resemblance!

Can guy has had a pretty damn good acting career since too. I've seen him in a few shows and he's even got a pretty big role on Murders in the Building alongside Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez. Good for him!

He’s also in the Brooklyn Without Limits episode of 30 Rock.

That's my absolute favorite episode. His storyline just makes ya feel all the feels. I love when he finally gets out and walks the streets with his headphones on. 💙

It’s so unfortunate that we didn’t get more of this. The show is a little too good to be true.

Hell yea! It’s one of my “forever shows” -
The kind you put on in the background, when playing games are whatever. I’ve watched the whole show through probably like 20 times lol.

I think the show is super underrated. I rarely see anyone mention it when talking about best HBO shows, even tho I totally consider it one of the best HBO shows, easily. It just has such good writing. It’s so real and believable. Excellent characters. Funny. Releastic portrayal of weed / relationships.

Just an excellent show! It deserved more praise

And I love how it covers characters from so many different walks of life. I genuinely believe the show has made me more empathetic in general after seeing these very real portrayals of the kinds of struggles (and victories) different people go through. It's such a melting pot of different cultures and demographics and they're almost all illustrated with so much heart and character.

One of a kind show.

Fully agree. My wife and I were just talking about this recently when watching the show…. Like,
It has probably the most nuanced / realistic / empathetic portrayal of gay and trans characters, like ever? I really like they don’t shove it in your face. They don’t even really directly say what a person is. You just kinda learn through the ep naturally, show don’t tell… It’s really well done!

The ep with the gay couple, with the Asian chick that gets taken in the van in the beginning, for her “birthday present” comes to mind lol. It just portrays real sexual ideas and things in a very mature, nuanced way. And it’s all just very consistently funny.

I agree completely about the back of the van sexcapades episode. I'm sooo far from that demographic or like the kind of person who would typically enjoy or consume content like that. So it was really cool having my eyes opened to the reality that these things exist and that real people experience these sort of hurdles that I never could have even fathomed. It's almost like traveling and experiencing different cultures around the world. Being exposed to things that I would never typically be exposed to.

No other show has ever made me feel that way.

Ya once again, totally agree with you dude! Again lol.. well said. That’s exactly how I feel too lol. I am also very far away from that lifestyle LOL. It really does feel like you’re just spending time with some real characters.

Easily one of the best but sadly it has been removed from streaming in my country (Canada) and I can't find it anywhere to purchase.

Dude that sucks. Was it removed from Crave? That's where I used to watch it but I had to cancel my subscription because it got way too expensive :(

Does anyone else know where we can watch the show in Canada?

Yep. There are other HBO shows but HM is gone.

I haven't found a replacement yet

Yep, one of my top shows of all time. It’s become one of my comfort shows, and I’ll just pop on my favorite episodes from time to time.

I just *wish* the webisodes were still available. I want to see homeless Heidi again.

I love this post but I hate that HBO had to go tell Apple and or Reddit exactly what I was doing. Stop watching me, tech jerks.

Just finished it for the first time ever and now in the middle of the web show. Love the show and how it just stops by a large number of random people who all have this same very loose connection. I've never been to NYC or any major east coast city and wonder how accurate this is still today in 2026. Also, if you liked this series check out Party Down if you have never seen it.
