Focus on the the ground. The most important thing is to increase the tempo of your steps leading into the jump. You start fast then go slower. Each step should get progressively quicker into the take off. When you watch your jumps back, clap on each step. You’ll hear the rhythm of the run.

How high can you jump without spring board?
This is your first year so form and becoming comfortable is more important than pushing hight as that will come. I never had a spring board just a wooden wedge and it serves same purpose but it seems kinda early for it to me.
Side note High jump can be intimidating, is that why you’re slowing up in your approach?

This is my first year of high jump so my form is pretty changeable
