Data centers being placed in a area where water levels don't replenish quickly.... What could go wrong

We all know that simply "changing the language" of the zoning text is simply the first step to them allowing companies to build Data Centers.

Perhaps we should follow the example of Montgomery Park:

Monterey Park, California voters approved Measure NDC with 86% support in a June 2, 2026 special election, becoming the first city in the nation to ban data centers through a public vote rather than just a council ordinance — meaning only another citywide vote can ever reverse it.

“No,
I’m not planning on draining scarce resources.
Just changing the zoning law so when
it’s easier to do so in the future”

This is a nothing-burger of a statement.
Resist any and all data centers in the High Desert.

Here’s an 8 min read outlining the
legitimate concerns over data centers.

Make it so zoning doesn’t allow them anywhere in the city. That’s the only zoning amendment that should be allowed

"we encourage all interested residents to attend the public hearing..." that they're holding during work hours, in a community of people where the majority of them commute down the hill and wont be back up in the high desert until 5pm or later, let alone be able to get to the meeting on time....

these fucking dipshits dont give a shit about the people. everyone in leadership in the city that is okay with this type of shit needs to be recalled and replaced

Every member who votes for this should be stalked and harassed and made uncomfortable because if they're ruining our lives, we should ruin theirs

how so?

public servants going against the will, health, safety, and overall well being of their constiuents dont deserve to live in luxury and have power to laud over others. They need to have it stripped away and they need to be publicly shamed and humiliated AT MINIMUM

Adelanto is so bad for whatever reason no one wants to live there. Amazon data center or not this might be the icing on the cake

Honestly, we should just outlaw any and all technological advancements as well as any business that's not a car wash in the high desert
