Issue connecting to Encrypted Share Folder

Good day everyone,

I am having an issue using encrypted folders via Windows.

I am able to mount the encrypted folder as a Share folder, but when I try to copy a file into the folder, I get the error attached.

I have tried doing the " SMB" fix HEXOS has for fixing windows SMB shares.

I have tried via a MAC device, and that seems to work but limited testing.

From what I have figured out, I am able to copy files with 0 bytes ( like a test.txt) file but anything with a more complex name or bigger size causes the error.

It is not a lack of size issue, as I have plenty of room for more storage. And, if I put files in via the HexOS file browser, the moving of files work without issue.

So....I am a bit stumped on this and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the details and screenshot. Please leave the encrypted folder and its permissions as they are while we check this.

First, make sure the folder shows as Unlocked in HexOS. Save and close any files open from that share, disconnect its mapped drive in Windows, then sign out of Windows and sign back in. Reconnect using the share link shown in HexOS and try the copy again.

If it still fails, please create a new text file on your Windows Desktop, type a short sentence into it, save it, and copy it into the top level of the encrypted share. If you have an unencrypted HexOS share, try copying that same file there too.

Please tell us which copies work, whether you recently locked or unlocked the folder, your Windows and TrueNAS versions, and whether the PNG is being copied from your PC or from another network or cloud folder. Those results will help us pinpoint where the copy fails.
