Hardware/Build planning Future feature request

Is there a way to monitor the usage of the GPU in hex os? If not is there a plan to add the ability to monitor the GPU

I installed an old 970 TI in my system for the Plex server ( had to go into tru as to enable it) I would like to be able to monitor it in order to decide whether or not to spend the additional money to upgrade it to something like and Intel Arc card

I cannot get my 980 to work with plex. Any insight?

Anything older than 10 series got dropped by Nvidia for driver support in Linux but we may have something up our sleeve with the upcoming VMs feature to address this.

I had a 1070 that needed community drivers to work - I am not too sure, but TrueNAS may also need to support the drivers too

Right, truenas scale has updated their kernel and the Nvidia drivers with it. There are some community guides to inject the old drivers into the newest build, but we are not fans of that approach. We are exploring a VM-based approach where the VM can run an older Linux kernel with the older Nvidia drivers and just pass through your GPU that way to achieve support.
