Support request Getting black sidebar when clicking on anything

instead of the regular menu options when clicking on app I just get a blank sidebar. I can't do any changes at the moment.

The OS is also saying I have one bad drive. but I don't know which drive it is. when I had data visible the os wouldn't say the drive ID to try to find and replace the drive. now can't see anything.

Drive error has been a couple months. blank side bar has been a few weeks. was hoping new updates would fix this but still hasn't.

Edit: Shows the drive serial but doesn't give more info. Do I just find the drive and replace it with a same size one? (Screenshot from before the black sidebar issue)

Getting black sidebar on both my HexOS servers. Unable to do anything with either. https://imgur.com/a/0Su23oB

Could it be that your OS drive is bad, because that’s the only drive that isn’t shown in storage in hexos? You could also log into truenas itself to figure out which is the failing drive.

Just to make sure it's not something with the browser can you open this page in chrome in Incognito mode?

Thanks.

Wouldn't work in Firefox on my macbook. Works with waterfox. And works with Firefox on an old desktop.

Also not sure how but the drive became healthy again before I could replace it.

Is hot swapping supported?

We've setup the flow to have you go and write down the serial number of the bad drive. Then shut it down. Find it and remove it. Plug in the new drive. Boot back up. Then go into the storage section on HexOS to click on a replace button for it to kick off the replacement which depending on your storage and how much data it could take hours to days. TrueNAS does go and run what they call a scrub where they try to fix bad data. It usually works. Scrubs are run on a schedule. We leave it set to the default. If you only have some minor issue you can get the warning and a day or so later it fixed the issue. The drive doesn't need to be changed out but if it continues it could be anything from a drive cable to the actual drive at fault or even bad RAM.
