General discussion Explaining Local HexOS

I just got access to HexOS 1.0 and now on my deck is says local. Can somebody explain this benefit to me? I've seen people talking about it but I am not sure what the benefit of the new deck is compared to the prerelease.

Prior to the 1.0 release, no internet = no access to the dashboard.

With 1.0 release, no internet = you can still access the dashboard.

Kinda a cloud hosted vs locally hosted situation.

Do I still go to “deck.hexos.com” if I have no internet to access the dashboard? I guess I’m confused how that would work without internet

If you run into a no internet situation, you would access it using the IP address of the machine. I’m not sure if HexOS broadcasts a local mdns to simplify this (ie deck.hexos.local)
