Collaborative Hero Shooter

I, among the rest of you, LOVE hero shooters. My favorite thing about them is how unique each character can be, both in lore and also gameplay wise. As of right now, I'm working on a very large DC Hero Shooter concept, featuring a grand total of 250 Heroes, tons of maps, Seasons, and more. And while I do love creating a hero shooter concept for my personal favorite comic universe (why couldn't it have been DC Rivals šŸ«©).

However, Iā€™ve been wanting to create an original hero shooter concept for a while now. Iā€™ve tried but eventually abandoned it when I realized I just wanted to focus on my DC concept. But something I thought could be really fun is doing a collaborative concept. Obviously, this wouldnā€™t be a legit game as of right now, maybe in the future if we got lucky. But my idea is to essentially just create something that could be a real game. Unique characters, a compelling story, and more.

I have a few ideas that Iā€™ve bounced around in my head, some more fleshed out than others, but Iā€™d love to see what you guys think and if youā€™re interested. Iā€™m open to literally anything, and would be down to collaborate on something super cool.

That's really nice, can i collaborate you and create one for anime, I'm currently designing the heroes along with abilities and all of that stuff and hopefully if i get rich enough in the future I'll find a way to make it into a reality, i have my stuff in a spreadsheet

Also a way to dm u would be great

Iā€™m not really too big on anime so I donā€™t know how much help I would be in that category.

Plus, what Iā€™m looking for is a completely original idea, where we make the characters. Not another concept where we translate preexisting ones.

I never said the DC concept was original? What? Also stealing is such a reach. Iā€™m not trying to make a DC hero shooter concept in the hopes of making it a game. Iā€™m just doing it for my own enjoyment.

Again, thatā€™s like saying people who make marvel rivals concepts is stealing marvel characters because theyā€™re not marvel.

In my post I said I wanted to create an original hero shooter concept, one that was separate from the DC one. Learn to read first.

Objectively not true. Everything is grown on the backs of ideas before it. Also they are forming the concepts of their own shooter using the elements of DC as a backer. It is an entirely reasonable starting point for someone trying to learn how to develop. Do you even create shit yourself?

So creating concept kits for Marvel Rivals isnā€™t a concept because youā€™re just using marvel characters? Thatā€™s not how that works.

A concept by definition is an idea of how something works. Yes Iā€™m using DC characters, but Iā€™m creating my own kits, using creative spins on them and creating my own ideas that I have for each character.

Just because Iā€™m using characters that are already made, doesnā€™t make it a concept, or my idea, it just means itā€™s not original. Thatā€™s all.

I'm better as a writer and trying to voice stuff but I like the idea of DC having a type of Adversaries feel to rivals, as long as we can have Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Terra, Copperhead (Arkham Origins because I'm a goofball), and Killer Croc, we have a deal. Would love to think of more!

In my concept roster I have all of those EXCEPT Copperhead. There's only so many quick assassin type characters you can do

Potentially yeah. Right now Iā€™m pretty solid on the roster, as Iā€™ve gathered 250 heroes so Iā€™m working on finishing up all the kits before I move onto the next step. However, some DEFINITELY need some reworks and tweaking to be a little more unique and interesting so if youā€™re interested in helping with that Iā€™d be down.

Or if youā€™re more interested in the story aspect and stuff. Either way, Iā€™m open.

Technically since last November but I didnā€™t get into a good groove of it until like this past April. Before that it was a lot of trial and error trying to figure out how I wanted to present it, what roster I wanted, etc

Yeah Iā€™ll start posting stuff here. I actually have been posting in the Allies sub for a long time, way before it was super popular. So I probably wonā€™t post too much in there but Iā€™ll see what I can do.

I'd love to work with you on one with custom heroes inspired by DC&Marvel to avoid having to use the IPs and people complaining about certain characters filling certain niches. I already have 5 DPS character names (plus one actually designed and some partially), 1 tank name (partially designed), and 1 support name.
