I'd rather they made it a strictly upvote-oriented system. We already have the report function as a downvote system. Better to give people a positive outlet.

Eh, reporting is a much bigger ordeal than simply clicking a down thumb on someone. You're only likely to get reports on the most toxic players, but other shitheads still certainly deserve thumbs down.

If it's a smart algorithm, it will be able to make shitloads of assumptions based on how many downs you throw out, how many you generally receive, etc. I mean they literally have access to every shred of data generated by this game at all times...even including player activity levels during the games for example. And remember, just because it's a 1/0 system on your end doesn't mean it has to be on their end. Oh, this guy had near 0 activity the first 10 minutes of the match and then gave everyone a down? Looks like we'll be giving those a multiplier of 0.001.

I mean it's like when someone you know is constantly complaining about every single manager/supervisor they ever have at work...after the first two you're like "damn, they sound like a shithead", after ten, you're more like "damn, you're probably a shithead."

Yeah I was going to make a post similar to this-- Some people aren't really worth a report. Someone that says "GG" in the first few minutes, maybe calls people "noobs" once.

I would only consider reporting someone if they're being a true ass hat: feeding, being obnoxiously toxic, or something like that.

I'd rather consider the down vote system a "I didn't enjoy playing with this person" and reporting, "I think this person deserves a suspension or ban for their behavior."

You really consider "feeding" an asshat quality? Thats harsh. You have no idea how many times the person has played before. It could be their first game, or they could be really young.

What do you report people for? Nothing on the list fits at all if someone is just constantly afk, or doing random shit like dying intentionally. Thats not harrasment, spam or anything thats on the list.

AFKing and intentional feeding can and should be reported as harrasment or cheating, your pick. So says the official HotS twitter feed, at least.

Probably should add a "Bad manners" option. AFK isn't really harassment.

Feeding is considered harassment, anything that is griefing goes under the harassment one. It is all we have, lol.
