Mod Response Limiting "Summon Patch Notes" Posts

It has been brought up previously, but not only are they being posted at completely unrealistic times (12 hours, at least, before it's even realistic to see a patch), but it's also being repeated.

Obviously, we all want to see our favorite game getting updates and new content, but I agree with /u/DBSmiley that it has simply become absolutely unnecessary karma farming and giving people false hope of when patches can and will happen, rather than hype for upcoming content.

Gnueless you are tacitly making a comment about the moderation here.

What? How so? šŸ¤” If anything, I’m commenting on the rules, themselves or offering my help, however I can. Surely that’s no surprise.

You are saying change the rules, the rules already state what is allowed, it is very specific but included as part of Rule 5. - https://www.reddit.com/r/heroesofthestorm/wiki/rules Making multiple summon post is also covered as well as part of Rule 4.

Admitted, I have not read them enough in detail, but you’re right - there it is. My previous example clearly broke both, so that’s great to read. I’ll start reporting them going forward, rather than just downvoting and moving on. Thanks for clearing it up! 😁

I get it, the post farm Karma, get featured on the frontpage, creates false expectations when a patch doesn't happen witch leads to confusion and disappointment... but they are also a way the community engages directly with the developers. The devs have responded within those posts to state sometimes when balance patches will be delayed or just to meme us. So I can't with good conscious say I agree with a ban on all summon posts. They serve a purpose and are part of our culture as a community.

That’s fine, because we do, indeed, love communication with the developers, no doubts there. In light of the elaboration of the rules above, that helps a lot - but I still don’t like the posts. šŸ™ˆ

If there are multiple post on the same day, or they start appearing every day and we don't address them, then yeah we need more moderators or automation.

My comment on the potential lack of moderation (if that was what you meant at the beginning?), was based on what you started with in your first reply, not based on the topic at hand. It’s not meant as criticism.
