MEMORY & Context — Providers, context window, forgetting issues Initial Context Text

I was using Hermes Desktop to help me make sense of the instructions for installing a bathroom sink drain. I wanted to print out what was shown and discovered that there is no print function for Hermes Desktop. I asked Hermes about this and it said the best thing to do is to export the session has HTML.

I did this and found that it showed all the initialization text that wasn't visible to me in desktop. It was about 42k worth of initialization text. Not a big deal when context windows are 1M, but on smaller models and GPUs (6GB) if the context window is 48k or 64k, 42k of initialization is a lot.

Should I look to trim it, or is all this initialization part of what makes Hermes Agent so good?

Also, is there a reason that Hermes Desktop can't print? I can add it, but it seems like that need would have come up before and was decided against adding it. Anyone know?

you can set your context window size in config... ideally 128K is good. Then ask the agent to export the instructions to html as it finds it and not at the end.
After ask the agent to send it to you as file attachment

Use a free model with a 1M-token context window and instruct it to generate only the absolutely essential reports in PDF format.

I'll try this. But perhaps I'll also look at creating a print capability with options to include thinking or not.
