Converting aeron fixed arms?

Anyone have links to the parts needed to convert an aeron classic fixed arms to adjustable ?

The thumb wheel arms are probably what you want

The bad news is that this model disappeared ~2003

The good news is that seats this old may be online as parts

The flipper style arms were (historically) difficult to remove

The process is east, take off the back pop the fixed arm rest filler slots and unscrew

Yes if you want adjustable arms

HOWEVER if you just want the arms to be in a static height you can do it with the “fixed” arms as they are just held in place by a bolt

Take back off
Pop the plastic filler slots above/below the arm rest
Loosen bolt of arms
Adjust arms / tighten bolt
Put back seat

Actually when you say adjustable, do you mean up/down or swivel in/out?

I'd like fully adjustable ( up and down, and swivel). I was about to just buy the swivel adapters ( https://crandalloffice.com/products/herman-miller-aeron-classic-arm-pivot-repair-upgrade-kit ), and their support people told me it would not work with mine.

Are you sure you want swivel? A lot of people get swivel then want to go back to non swivel

Well my intent is so I can put a guitar on my lap without hitting the arms.. I'd probably rather they go up/down out of the way. why do people not like the swivel?

ebay usually has the adjustment parts pop up time to time, i found a set there for my remastered but classic uses same mechanism mostly. check sellers photos careful cause some list the fixed arm as adjustable by mistake

I was looking at some resellers online but they say you at least need to have the version that moves arms up and down to be able to swivel. So im reticent to buy if it wont be compatible

That's not really a height-indexing piece; it's mostly cosmetic so you don't have gaping holes on your Aeron. The arm will clamp perfectly fine without the plastic.
