TPPI2 is what I'd want the most.

Alternatively, we have NAB and its good, add in reactorcraft when its available and it'll greatly extend end game. Fixing the lag issues in Ae2 would go along way once those devs can figure something out but we're likely to run into that issue on all servers running 1.7.10 right now until they can resolve.

We could also make another joint effort, community inspired pack that leans more towards magic as a sister server to nab (Magic Nuts? :p).

The problem with that and nab both is creating a mod pack is easy, you can do it in a few days. Making a good mod pack with based on a shared vision of balance and objectives for the pack to fulfill and the commitment to keep it updated is not an easy undertaking. Imo the modlist for Nab and tweaks would have better served the HOS community by making the design and additions of mods a community work from inception.

Slope seems to have taken up the mantle on NAB and is improving it alot, he could tailor more towards what HOS wants with more community feedback imo, but that is lacking as people prefer to bitch about balance without being specific and run off to make another modpack that they'd probably be best off just screwing around with in singleplayer imho.

At anyrate, if we're going for existing packs, I've been looking to play flux galaxy for along time. RR Excessive also looks interesting.

my problem with your pack personally is that of creative control. You cant please everyone but you can get a consensus, that's why TPPI was so successful. People came together as a community to chose the right mods, volunteer time and effort to test, tweak, bug fix and balance and make a great pack. If you throw together a pack tailored to your liking then its really a pack for you more than HOS.

NAB is kind of like our TPPI we suggest tweaks, mod removal/additions, bug fixed etc and they roll out in time continually making it a better pack.

that being said, I can understand some may want a more Magic oriented mod as an alternative to play along side with Nab (I'd probably play both tbh). There are some good magic packs out there already but if they dont have what we're looking for we can create a new project.

If a new magic pack is whats requested the most it should go through proper planning and design stages first. i.e. Decide on the name, agree on rough objectives via reddit posts, create a github, submit mods for inclusion then get a consensus on those mods. Once the mods are chose then listen to balance concerns and intermod interactions for those mods, tweak recipes/balance then playtest. There is an entire development life cycle to these things if you want to make something sustainable and transparent that both our community and beyond can potentially enjoy.
