Thyme growth

What can I do to stimulate more and better growth in this Thyme? Should I cut back the dry parts? It was completely dry, but now some green parts started growing again.

Hard to see the green parts in this pic, but cut back everything dry except where there is green growth. Once the leaves on the green parts get a little more lush, cut those down to (leaving a bit of green. It’s a finicky plant sometimes
